About microbiome and infection control: Svetlana Shiyanova made a speech at the conference

The leading doctors of the ISIDA clinic not only learn from the experience of foreign specialists in the field of diagnosis and treatment of all forms of male and female infertility, but they are happy to share their own knowledge and discoveries with their colleagues. Thus, the chief physician of the Infertility Treatment Center, the reproductive specialist of the ISIDA clinic Svetlana Shiyanova, spoke at the one-day conference of profilab "Meetings of professionals: infections in obstetrics and gynecology", which took place on April 20 at the site of the publishing house EXTEMPORE. Dr. Shiyanova presented a report on the topic “Chronic endometritis” to the participants of the conference. In report Svetlana Shiyanova revealed the problem of the inflammatory process of the uterine cavity - the most important factor in violations of the embryo's implantation, both in the case of natural fertilization and in vitro fertilization (IVF).

With the emergence of such a concept in medicine as a microbiome and the emergence of basic research on this topic, the understanding of infectious diseases also changed among practitioners. It was through the prism of modern knowledge about infections in obstetrics and gynecology that the conference participants looked for answers to the questions “How to choose the correct therapy for urogenital infections?”, “What are the latest recommendations of professional associations about managing infections during pregnancy?” etc.

Well-known Ukrainian experts in the field of obstetrics, gynecology, infectious diseases and microbiology spoke at the conference. In particular, the candidate of medical sciences, obstetrician-gynecologist, fetal surgeon, reproduction specialist Victor Oshovsky presented the report “Infections during pregnancy”. This paper discusses the principles of examination and management of pregnant women in the presence of infectious diseases that may be risky to the health of the fetus.

Professor Nadezhda Boiko, Head of the Department of Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics and Pharmacology, Director of the Research and Training Center for Molecular Microbiology and Immunology of the mucous membranes (NIUC MMISO), presented a report on the effect of the human microbiome on his health and susceptibility to diseases.

“The possibility of targeted correction in the case of high-quality pre-screening is particularly inspiring. One can hope that practitioners will soon have a powerful tool not only for testing for vaginal infections, but also the opportunity to restore the balance taking into account the individual characteristics of the woman”, Svetlana Shiyanova shared her impressions of the report.

ISIDA clinic specialists are always interested in studying current research related to reproductive medicine, collecting the latest information and applying it in the treatment of all forms of infertility. We strive to make every effort to fulfill your dream of becoming parents!
