World Congress on Hysteroscopy: reproductive doctor Svetlana Shiyanova tells about modern treatment methods
The chief physician of the ISIDA Clinic Infertility Treatment Center, the reproductive doctor Svetlana Shiyanova, visited the Second World Global Congress on Hysteroscopy.
The congress was held from April 30 to May 4 in Barcelona. It was devoted to the problems of intrauterine pathology and methodologies of hysteroscopic correction (examination of the uterine cavity using an endoscope). The special focus of the congress participants was therapeutic approaches to the restoration of fertility. Mostly there were specialists working in the centers of assisted reproductive technology.
“The congress program was extremely rich, and the prospects that are opened thanks to modern hysteroscopic treatment methods give hope, even with difficult pathologies, to achieve results that make the onset and gestation of pregnancy very real,” Svetlana Shiyanova shared her impressions of participation in the congress. “The congress was held in an interactive way, allowing all those present to join in the discussion of cases and diagnosis, as well as communicate with world experts”.
After the emergence of endoscopic methods of surgical treatment, the development of hysteroscopy occurs in rapid steps. New techniques allow interventions without general anesthesia, not only for diagnostic purposes, but also for a variety of corrective interventions. This was made possible by the improvement and optimization of intrauterine devices. Interestingly, the overwhelming majority of the techniques and technologies presented at the exhibition are performed with disposable instruments.
The new approaches have indisputable advantages for the patient: there is no need for hospitalization, there is no load on the body due to intravenous anesthesia. It is also important that the cost of medical intervention is reduced. Such powerful capabilities have become real thanks to the collaboration of the latest engineering developments with the developments of leading experts in the field of endoscopy.
