Fertilitat is a pioneering center of reproductive medicine that combines scientific innovation, sensitivity and ethics in the realization of the dreams of thousands of couples. The clinic, led by doctors Alvaro Petracco and Mariangela Badalotti, aims to provide a qualified service aligned with the most advanced technologies in the area of human reproduction.
Acting ethically and seriously, the center is dedicated to the research and treatment of conjugal infertility, as well as the preservation of fertility. For every couple that seeks it, Fertilitat offers a warm welcome, individual dedication, the best treatments and all the necessary emotional support. For this, it counts on the commitment of a team of specialists, many of them renowned professors and with vast production in the area of scientific research. Add to this a modern laboratory, high technology equipment and the most current and reliable techniques, often brought to Brazil first hand by Fertilitat.
To keep ahead in medical discoveries, the center maintains a scientific exchange program with several national and international institutions. This work, conducted in an eminently scientific way, culminated in the elaboration of a large number of reference works and research, published and presented in national and international congresses.
Inaugurated in 1991, Fertilitat began its journey in 1987, when it was still an Assisted Fertilization Group. It was the result of the work of this group the birth of the first assisted reproduction baby of Rio Grande do Sul, in 1989. Álvaro Luís Santos - named after the director of Fertilitat, Alvaro Petracco.
In the beginning of the 90s, the first in vitro fertilization twins from Rio Grande do Sul were born through the work of Fertilitat. Four years later, the clinic was responsible for the first report of pregnancy using sperm from the epididymis of America Latina. Since 1997, the center has been accredited by the Latin American Network for Assisted Reproduction.
Fertilitat is also responsible for the first birth through egg freezing by slow technique of Brazil in 2002. The technology and cutting edge knowledge have always been the basis of the work of the Clinic, a position that owes much of its pioneering spirit. The new assisted reproduction laboratory of Fertilitat, inaugurated in 2007, was one of the first in Brazil fully adapted to Anvisa standards.
In 2009, the clinic was awarded by ADVB, in the Social Responsibility category, for the creation of the Assistireh Institute, a non-governmental institution created in 2006 with the objective of facilitating access to assisted reproduction techniques for couples who, under full conditions of creation a child, can not afford the treatment. In 2010, the project received the Top Citizenship award from ABRH.
In all, over 5,000 babies have already come into the world through the work of Fertilitat. The team is made up of highly trained professionals, aligned with the most modern assisted reproduction practices worldwide. The scientific update is one of the characteristics of the clinic - its members constantly invest in research in the field, are authors of reference articles and participate in the main congresses of the specialty.
