Our Mission, Vision & Values

Mission: We provide superior, personalized fertility care to our patients.
Vision: To be synonymous with excellence in fertility care.
Values: Innovation / Trust / Integrity
• Evidence-based practice
• Respect for patients and each other
• Happy workplace where we treat patients and team like family

At PCRM we believe that each patient’s journey to fertility is unique. Our philosophy is to put the patient first, and the right treatment will follow. Although we are one of the largest clinics in Canada, our team focuses on these values to create an atmosphere of personalized fertility care with excellent service. However you choose to build your family, PCRM strives to support you with knowledge, experience and kindness.

PCRM was founded in 2006. Since then we have grown to become one of the largest fertility clinics in Canada. Our headquarters is located on the perimeter of Vancouver (just off Highway 1) to conveniently serve women in the lower mainland as well as those travelling from British Columbia’s interior, Whistler and the coast. PCRM also has three additional offices in British Columbia, located in Surrey and central Vancouver and Whistler. In 2016 we celebrated our 10-year anniversary by opening a brand-new fertility clinic and IVF laboratory in Edmonton, Alberta. From our 4 locations, PCRM provides a wide variety of fertility services to patients in Western Canada and the Northern Territories.

PCRM is committed to educating medical students, family physicians and obstetrics/gynecology residents at the University of British Columbia and the University of Alberta. All of our physicians are also university faculty members. We participate in both clinical teaching at our sites and lecturing on campus. PCRM hosts an annual Fertility and Reproductive Medicine Symposium at BC Women’s Hospital for over 180 physicians who want to further their knowledge of fertility care. We are the principal training site for the UBC sub-specialty residency training program in Gynecologic Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Dr. Jon Havelock is the program director. PCRM also pioneered the only first trimester screening program (FTS) in British Columbia certified by the Fetal Medicine Foundation.

PCRM is very active in both clinical and laboratory research. We constantly review the most current developments in our field in order to offer patients cutting-edge care. A list of our own research publications and other notable publications in the realm of fertility can be found in our Physician Resources section.

PCRM is the first and only fertility clinic in BC with a licensed pharmacy for our patients requiring reproductive medication. This guarantees close continuity and instruction between the prescribing physician and our patients, minimizing dispensing error. By regulation, we have a dedicated link to Pharmanet. We are able to also work with insurance companies to assist with claims.

PCRM’s laboratory was constructed to optimize embryo growth for IVF applications. Our lab was designed and commissioned by Oozoa Biomedical Incorporated, who are recognized as authorities on quality assurance for IVF and Andrology laboratories. Oozoa has designed many highly successful labs around the world with a strong emphasis on air quality and risk management.

For the protection of patient embryos and banked samples, we have a sophisticated security and monitoring system, with an high-capacity generator for 7-day back-up power supply.

We use the latest electronic record keeping to ensure accuracy and continuity on your file between practitioners. Practice Hwy’s software “eIVF” is a fertility EMR which allows easy communication between staff and patients.
For accurate screening, PCRM uses state-of-the-art ultrasound, with 3D and real time 3D (also known as 4D) imaging for fertility and pregnancy ultrasounds. We have eight ultrasound machines utilized for a variety of procedures and screens. We are also the only facility accredited by DAP (Diagnostic Accreditation Program) in the province.
