About AMFMM
Vision and Mission
AMFMM will create a vibrant, collaborative community between MFM managers, MFM medical institutions/organizations, MFM doctors, and MFM vendors with the objective of enhancing business value and patient experience through exceptional practice management. AMFMMs goal is to promote an environment that facilitates efficient, collegial, and beneficial partnerships between managers, physicians, and the MFM community.

Our Vision Statement: Established in 2008, The Association for Maternal Fetal Medicine Management (AMFMM), a Nonprofit 501(c)6, Professional Group of the Society Maternal Fetal Medicine (SMFM), is dedicated to improving the art and science of MFM practice management in an efficient and effective manner.
Our Mission Statement: AMFMMs mission is to create an environment that facilitates individual and organizational learning between managers and physicians that enriches the MFM patient experience while enhancing the MFM business value. AMFMM is committed to:
Encouraging the exchange of ideas through networking and collaboration,
Fostering cooperative relationships for the advancement of organizational learning,
Developing vital, timely, and pertinent practice management guidance,
Supporting continuous quality improvement by defining best practices through on-going community-based research,
Developing best practices benchmark indicators, and
Offering continuing education and program development.

Conferences
The members of this committee will be responsible for all aspects of event planning. This includes but is not limited to the work involved in organizing the annual business course held every fall. Duties of this committee include but are not limited to: site selection and negotiation for events, obtaining vendor participation, designing and assimilating conference brochure, all work involved in getting proper accreditation for CME from ACOG, correspondence to potential attendees, and obtaining speakers.

The SMFM is a society of maternal-fetal medicine sub-specialists and others who are dedicated to the optimization of pregnancy and perinatal outcomes. We are obstetricians/gynecologists with advanced training and expertise in maternal and fetal healthcare. SMFM provides leadership for the advancement of women and children’s health through pregnancy care, research, and education.

While not written specifically as patient education material, this monograph was written to provide a clearer understanding who maternal-fetal medicine specialists are and what we do. It offers examples of the kinds of patients cared for by maternal-fetal medicine specialists and what is done for them.
