Comfort Measures in Labor

DESCRIPTION:

This is a class for pregnant women and their partners who have already taken a birthing class but would like to spend more time preparing for an unmedicated birth. Couples will learn, and have time to practice a variety of comfort techniques not covered in our Understanding Birth class. In addition, partners will learn added strategies to be a more effective “coach”. Couples taking this class should have taken an Understanding Birth class, or have a strong knowledge of the stages of labor. All couples will get a copy of the Labor Lab booklet. Bring one yoga mat per couple to class. Price is per couple. If you are unable to attend your class, please call at least 48 hours in advance to reschedule or to receive a class refund. This will allow your seat to be made available to another participant. Bring your confirmation email with you; you may be asked to present it at check–in. Expectant parents delivering at Northwestern Memorial Hospital are required to have a Pediatrician for their newborn(s) prior to delivery. Please call Physician Referral at 3129268400 and one of our Health Consultants will assist you with referrals to Pediatricians.
