DESCRIPTION:

The classes are offered from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. over the course of two Saturdays. The first class covers Childbirth. The second class covers Baby Care and Breastfeeding. It is required that both Saturdays be attended.

Prepared Childbirth: The Prepared Childbirth class at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - White Rock will introduce you to what to expect with the birth of your child. Taught by a labor and delivery nurse, this class will help you prepare for childbirth, your hospital stay, and caring for your newborn. We will discuss labor, pain control options, common discomforts during pregnancy, complications to watch for, and what to expect and how to care for your newborn during the first two weeks at home. Breastfeeding: During the prenatal breastfeeding class we will discuss the importance of exclusive breastfeeding for six months, steps to successful breastfeeding and how to maintain your milk supply. prepare for childbirth, your hospital stay, and caring for your newborn.
