The International Stillbirth Alliance Annual Conference 2017

The International Stillbirth Alliance Annual Conference will be held in Cork, Ireland from 22–24th September 2017 at the University College Cork campus. The Conference will take place over two days, Saturday and Sunday, with a mixture of plenary and concurrent sessions from invited speakers and selected presentations from conference abstracts.

Pre–conference, an IMPROVE workshop will be held on Friday 22nd September (https://sanda.psanz.com.au/clinical-practice/improve/).

The call for abstract submissions will go live in January 2017. A lively social programme is planned to integrate with the Conference. For further information please see http://www.isacork2017.com/ and follow the Conference on Twitter @isacork2017.

We look forward to your continued support and hope you will be able to attend.

On behalf of the Cork organizing committee of the International Stillbirth Alliance Conference 2017, I wish to extend the warmest Céad Míle Fáilte (One Hundred Thousand Welcomes) to our city, country and conference. We invite you to attend our conference and hope that you find the programme educational, insightful, evidence-based, stimulating and meaningful.

The organizing committee for ISA 2017 is made up of members of the Pregnancy Loss Research Group based within University College Cork’s Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Cork University Maternity Hospital. This group is made up of a multi-disciplinary team involving obstetricians, midwives, social scientists, epidemiologists, services users, perinatal pathologists, chaplains, educators and researchers.  We have worked alongside our partners, parent organization Féileacáin, the National Perinatal Epidemiology Centre, and the INFANT centre at University College Cork to host ISA 2017 and bring this conference to Ireland for the first time.

The organizing committee has spent many hours planning, preparing and researching a schedule of events that attempts to meet the individual and professional needs of every delegate. We hope you find our Plenary Speakers inspiring, as they will challenge us as healthcare professionals to constantly strive for excellence in our work with bereaved parents.  It is the sincere wish of the organising committee that delegates take time to attend our conference Service of Remembrance and spend time in the Quiet Areas provided for reflection and contemplation.

The committee members have really enjoyed putting together a social calendar, which showcases the best of Cork.  We want these social events to provide a relaxed atmosphere for all who attend to share ideas and experiences, and form strong ties between the international stillbirth alliance community.

We look forward to meeting you at ISA, Cork 2017.
