Dr. Mitwally is a Reproductive Endocrinologist & Infertility specialist and Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (FACOG). He is “triple” board certified by The American Board of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, The American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and The American Board of Bio-analysis. He is known world-wide for invention of a new infertility treatment known as the Aromatase Inhibitor, Letrozole. He holds several patents on using Letrozole for infertility treatment and other reproductive disorders. Dr. Mitwally’s work on Letrozole use for fertility treatment was selected as one of the 25 historic papers along the last 75 years by the ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine) in 2019. Dr. Mitwally, who is originally from Egypt, runs “Mitwally Fertility Clinic” with his wife and four sons with locations in San Antonio, Texas and Columbus, Ohio. 

Dr. Mitwally completed his medical school in Egypt in 1990. He was the top graduate of his class. After finishing a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology, he moved to the US in 1997 to complete another residency in Ob-Gyn. at University at Buffalo, New York, and four fellowships in Reproductive Sciences, Reproductive Genetics & Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, at West Virginia University, University of Pittsburgh, University of Toronto and Wayne State University. He has published over 150 peer reviewed publications in scientific journals and has been serving as a scientific reviewer for several scientific journals. He was honored as the recipient of various prestigious awards including the award of American Society of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility, Jerome J. Hoffman Prize of American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists, Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS) Outstanding Paper Award, and President’s Presenter Award of Society for Gynecological Investigation. Dr. Mitwally was invited to speak at scientific meetings in several countries including USA, Canada, United Kingdom, China, Switzerland, and India. Dr. Mitwally has special expertise in assisted reproduction (IVF, In-Vitro Fertilization), PCOS, pelvic pain & endometriosis, as well as fertility preservation in cancer patients and reproductive genetics.
