Kindly be informed that we can provide baby sex selection treatment only by sperm preparation in IUI or IVF at our Fertility Center, Bumrungrad hospital. However, the success rate would be only around 40% and also depends on the wife’s physical as well as husband’s sperm condition.

About “Pre–implantation Genetic Diagnosis’’(PGD), The Fertility & IVF Clinic at Bumrungrad International Hospital offers this service while abiding with the rules of the Medical Council of Thailand.

However, we do not provide gender/ sex selection by “PGD” technique in our hospital, as the treatment is considered unethical.

IVF treatment: Please be informed that the procedure requires the presence of both husband and wife at Bumrungrad Hospital. The details of the procedure are as follows:

The couple should come to Bumrungrad Hospital 5–7 days prior to wife’s first menstruation date for Gynecologist check–up and pre–assessment examination commencement of the treatment

IVF program includes pre–assessment, ovarian stimulation, egg & sperm collection, harvesting and embryo transfer.

The wife should come to Hospital on day 1–2 of menstruation, withdraw some blood for hormone assessment or ultrasound. If the levels are proper enough, ovarian stimulation can be carried out around seven to ten days with daily self–injections.

Vaginal egg collection is performed under sedation or a general anesthetic. Sperm collection is needed on the same day or can be kept frozen before this date.

Harvesting of embryo in the lab takes about 3–5 days, followed by embryo transfer. Maximum of three embryos can be transferred.

REMARKS:

As required by Thai Medico-Legal Law: Before starting IVF process, you are required to provide marriage certificate (Thai or English language), if that marriage certificate is not in English, translated version which is validated by a notary public will be required.

Please note that HIV positive female patients are unfortunately not eligible to participate in the IVF programs.

Period of IVF treatment is 3–4 weeks

The estimate cost of treatment 450,000 – 500,000 Baht** per cycle depends on the patient’s condition.

IVF patients are treated on an outpatient basis. The total procedure should take around one month. Therefore they will be expected to be here in Bangkok for at least one month.

The above estimated cost will:

be effective once the surgery / procedure commences within December 31, 2019.

not include the estimated doctor’s consultation fee which may range from 500 – 2,000 Baht / doctor / OPD visit, although in some cases depending on various factors, the fee might vary from the estimate range.

not include any antibiotic medicines after surgery / procedure.

Not include any other expenses incurred before, and after the surgery/ procedure.

Not include any medical expenses / doctor's fee incurred due to complication, underlying and / or further treatment costs which may arise during and after the surgery/ procedure. These costs will be the responsibility of the patient.

Not include home medications and medical supply.

Accommodations - as the programme is done by OPD basis. Travel expenses are not included as well
