About South Jersey Fertility Center

SJFC is the longest continuously running IVF program in southern New Jersey, with a proven track record of success. We strive every day to bring this tradition of excellence to our patients to help them succeed. While many of our patients who come for IVF treatments are from New Jersey, Philadelphia, and New York, we regularly see patients that travel explicitly for our expertise.

Assisted Reproductive Techniques (ART) include various methods of aiding human reproduction through techniques that involve retrieving a woman’s eggs from her ovaries. These procedures are best known by their acronyms, such as IVF and ICSI. An innovative new technology called Pre-implantation Genetic Testing (PGT) formerly PGS, allows selection of an embryo with the right number of chromosomes to dramatically increase pregnancy rates and reduce the rate of miscarriage.

IVF is a process by which one or more eggs (oocytes) are fertilized outside the body. If the male partner has a very low sperm count, then fertilization is achieved by injecting a single sperm into each egg in a process called Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). If the sperm count is normal, then the usual procedure is to place a droplet of washed sperm (50,000) onto each egg. Successfully fertilized eggs are called embryos. A select number of embryos are placed into the uterus for implantation and establishment of pregnancy. Prior to implantation, embryos can be tested for their genetic competence through PGT-A and a single normal embryo can be implanted with a high probability of success
