Review of Dr. Shterev Hospital from Boryana Nesheva
Extremely disappointed by dr. Ganeva. I went for a general consultation to ask specific questions for eventual procedure in the future - what examinations must be done and which factors are important. She didn’t explain anything- her only answer to everything was “I need to perform a medical check”. Her attitude was extremely haughty and sly. I was charged 40 BGN for absolutely nothing! This is unprofessional and only in favour of earning money rather than doing their job with dignity.

I would say they are not prepared and they not prefer natural childbirth. The doctor who was following my pregnancy told me she could not commit to my plans of natural childbirth because she was busy and told me to choose another doctor from the website ("See their pictures and choose one").\nWhen labor started, I was administered unnecessary oxytocin which led to extremely painful contractions, fetal hearth rate changes and an express labor for a total of 3 hours (although they were preparing me for a emergency C-section, but it the meantime I almost gave birth in the corridor). During the pregnancy I was not checked for Rh incompatibility with the baby, although they knew well my blood type. Other important blood labs were not made (thyroid panel).\nAnd a year before I got pregnant, I had an appointment and a doctor from the same hospital was confident and shameless to tell me that I would not be able to have children naturally, my only chance being potentially IVF. Needless to say he was wrong...\nMaybe things have changed and they have improved in many ways, but attitudes of people don't change..

I could have delivered in the corridor of the labor ward due of Staff negligence!\nI had a difficult time writing this as it took me back to the dark place when I delivered my son in November 2020. My labor pains kicked in at night and I had to be admitted at the ward, with a training doctor and unmotivated nurses to attend to those who were to deliver that night. There was no regular routine check for dilation and one moment I felt like the baby was coming so I ran for help, only to find the training doctor asleep. She was kind to come help. It was not the baby, just stronger contractions, so I had to be more brave.\nMy assigned doctor arrived moments much later, of course, not happy for the late night call. He didn't say a word, ordered I to be induced to fasten the process and left. After an hour or so he came and the look on his face said the baby would be there any time. He told me to go to the delivery room which I had no slight idea where it was. Nobody spoke English or cared to direct me. I passed it, continued to search along the corridor, 2 nurses were making fun of me and addressing me as Shaka Zulu. Am African and I didn't take this well as they used it to ridicule me in my most helpless moment.\nI would not, in any way recommend this hospital to anyone, not to experience what I went through.\nSo many things could have been right, but weren't..
