We spent 3 agonizing years with Olive , Dr Areiyu Zhang was our main contact.
Bad communication, terrible nursing practices poor practice , doctors switching without informing us, outrageous costs that far exceed other clinics in Canada or the US.........
We have done countless testing, blood work, analysis, X ray, and other procedures as Dr Zhang has suggested.
After running through several unsuccessful attempts to get pregnant through natural treatments and artificial insemination .
Dr Zhang couldn't figure out the reason so she agreed to let us try IVF
We finally agreed to do an IVF, Dr Zhang had no clue of what was going on , she has shown to lack proper knowledge of my wife's egg quality ....................
I certainly think they are less equipped than most Fertility clinics in the US or Middle East
They will run countless testing because they can not determine why things aren't working. ................
Rude receptionist, uncooperative nursing teams, very reckless behavior during operation, the novice doctor was laughing& chatting while my wife was bleeding profusely in the operating room..
Do yourself a favor and find another place that value patient's health not their pockets
....
I certainly advise you to stay away from Olive Fertility, especially Dr Zhang

Just spent 1.5 hours at Olive to get a two minute ultrasound which they made me wait 45 mins past my appointment, and a prescription pickup. At no point did they give a reason for my extremely long wait, or even tell me what they were doing or what the prescription was for. Also the receptionist was rude and had troubles wearing her mask properly.

Gosh, we have had a terrible time so far at Olive. The communication between team members is really poor, and they are constantly forgetting procedures or tests I need to have done, which delays my whole process of insemination. It's hard to get in touch with anyone, and when I do, they have no idea what's going on because the doctors, nurses, and sperm coordinator (what a title, am I right?) don't talk to each other.
One grouchy nurse even lectured me about not getting a test done, when if she looked at the doctor's notes, he'd told me I didn't need that test. As if fertility treatments weren't stressful enough without this level of disorganization and unnecessary judgment and lectures.

I am just updating this to add that now that we are pregnant, the quality of nursing care is unresponsive and dismissive. I've told my nursing team I'm not feeling right, and they're not willing to investigate, ask further questions, or run a blood test to find out if my iron is low or something. They basically told me to get over it, even though I know something isn't right.

Oddly despite the high price of "care" here, the quality is much, much lower than anything I've experienced in the public system; particularly communication with "professionals." At Olive you can expect dismissive platitudes in lieu of diagnostic clarity.

This place is very professional even though it's hard not to feel extremely awkward when talking to the doctors. Providing a comfortable and private space to blow your wad as well as several adult materials such as nudie mags for men and women and some sort of porn roku with many pre loaded videos. Feature films including "Army F*ck 2", "Teens go black", more orgy videos than I felt comfortable with and some surprisingly over aggressive fetish films. Unfortunately I couldn't get my box to load. However, it is 2019 so I opted for the guest wifi and used my phone to load up materials that were much more conservative. the reclining chairs are comfy and their no rush policy will really help you to make sure you're excreting the maximum amount of sample possible. There's a clean up station in every room and an exit close to the freezing room allowing you to leave as soon as possible helping you to forget the weird thought that you just masturbated in a mall for future baby production.

Originally they give you all the hope in the world telling you that your case is ok . You are young . You won't even probably need to go to IUI . Just buy some ( more expensive then elsewhere) medicine from their pharmacy. Try several months .Not working ... hmmm let's try IUI , few more thousands of dollars down the road ... now they come up with a new , not used until now term : "inexplicable " like everything is fine it should work but ... it doesn't . Don't worry, with an extra 10 grand you can upgrade to PRO : try the IVF . You will now rarely meet dr Nakhuda , the original giver of hope , but you'll eventually deal with all the clinic's doctors . It won't help . More and more you have the feeling that they have a bigger hope in God's help than in science and you feel like you paid the top priests of the world to pray instead of scientists since they use with each passing day more and more the word " inexplicable" ... I am really sorry I ever stepped in their " money for hope " business...

Olive are amazing. I went to one of the other big clinics in Vancouver with my first child and there is no comparison. You get flexibility with appointments and lots of contact with your doctor and a dedicated team. At the other clinic I waited nearly an hour to be seen every time, I had no direct contact with my doctor other than appointments and his PA would often not get back to me. What's more, the procedures are nowhere near as uncomfortable at Olive but that might just be a direct comparison of the two doctors.

I have to say, being a client of Olive for over three years now, I am appalled at how fast their rates have changed/increased and at the frequency of doing so. When we first became patients in 2015, we were paying $300 for each IUI treatment. In 2016 this increased to $400, 2017 it was $500, and now we are paying $600. All for a 5 minute procedure that is usually done by my partner anyhow. On top of that, we are paying $300/year for storage of excess vials. Is it really necessary to gouge people for all these costs when they're clearly at a disadvantage already? We have been given the runaround since 2015 and it continues. If we had other options we would be exercising them! SO FRUSTRATED!
