I’ve had the worst experience. We were booked in for our last ultrasound to get discharged from Anova. We booked in when we were at the Waterloo location and then confirmed for Guelph. I called as well and the receptionist confirmed Guelph as well. My spouse and I both take off time off work, unpaid, come in and they tell us they cannot fit us in because we were booked for Waterloo. We double checked it was Guelph and this was not our error. Nothing could be done , except for us having to take more time off work. We’ve spent close to 50 grand here and they couldn’t rectify there mistake. I was told it was due to “pregnancy brain” from one of the receptionist. Them wasting both my spouse and mine time, is not based on someone’s pregnant brain. Mistakes were made, I can handle that, but not rectifying it after all the money we have spent is the problem.

After my midwife's referral, I turned to Anova Fertility for help finding answers for why I had miscarried at 14 weeks. The process involved multiple invasive tests, with an emphasis on “cause of infertility” despite my ability to conceive. The tests included weekly blood work, internal ultrasounds. Though the paperwork asked for my preferred name, I was never called by it. The ultrasound technician was extremely rude, and her behavior left me feeling anxious and humiliated. It was painful and I bled each time.nnI received an unexpected bill for a test I don’t recall agreeing to, adding to the confusion during an already overwhelming time. I spent over $100/week for progesterone that is not covered by OHIP or benefits.nnAfter conceiving again, I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks. I was not shown the screen or heartbeat. After asking how far along I was, the tech said shortly, “well, there’s nothing in your uterus”. It was ectopic, which was shared with me in a blatantly rude way, not to mention extremely inappropriate.nnI went to Ambulatory Care to be administered methotrexate. The hospital staff treated me with compassion, something I deeply needed. They were gentle, gave me a blanket, and let me cry, and said “I’m so sorry for your loss.” The difference in care was stark, and it was the first time someone had acknowledged me as a human - as a mother. The follow-up ultrasound tech at the hospital (prefaced by a panic attack) let me insert the wand myself, allowing my husband to be by my side, and was not painful, even in active miscarriage. It was eye-opening to know it didn’t have to be traumatic.nnThere were no answers about why I lost my daughter, Melody.nnWhile Anova offers convenience with its referral program, flexible appointments, and covered parking, I cannot recommend them for those who are grieving. If you need warmth and comfort, this may not be the right place for you. You deserve compassionate care.nnThis review is difficult for me to share, and I ask Anova to avoid replying..

We have recently considered switching from another clinic to Anova after some painful and disappointing experiences with overall care.nnOur experience with Anova so far has been ABOVE AND BEYOND what we were looking for. From the intake with Alina and Danielle to front end reception, and our first appointment with Lucy the physician assistant; we feel supported and encouraged in continuing our journey with Anova. Lucy took the time to answer every question with consideration and care reassuring us with what Anova can provide and how we walk forward. Anova has been very helpful with my journey ... I have been to both clinics and the staff has been nothing but amazing and supportive but I want to take a moment to highlight Cayla from the Guelph location. Cayla is so understanding, straight forward, empathic and amazing. She has truly been my guiding light throughout this difficult journey. She has always been open to hear my concerns and answers my questions and she just has a way of dealing with people that is truly remarkable and special. After many years, many tests and persistence, we finally welcomed our little one into the world. Over this time we have met with so many staff members between Guelph and the North York location for IVF and every single person we’ve met has been kind and wonderful.nWhile staff have changed over the years, the care has not. From Dr. Giffin, to Dr. Dixon and Hanan you have all been wonderful to deal with.nHaving open discussions, being able to ask questions had given us the confidence to make the best informed decisions for our needs.nWe have and will continue to recommend Anova to friends and family because we know they will be in good hands.nThank you for everything!.
