Overall, the medical services and experience at Shalby SG Hospital were good. All the staff members were cooperative, and the care provided was excellent. However, I had a disappointing experience during the mediclaim process. The hospital staff failed to attach one of the essential documents required for approval, which resulted in a significant delay. I had to stay in the hospital for an additional 8–9 hours due to this oversight.nnBecause of this technical error, they had to resubmit the documents. Unfortunately, their office closed at 8 PM, and the mediclaim team left without informing me about the status of my discharge or the claim approval. Although the mediclaim was approved by 11 AM, I didn’t receive my discharge slip until 10 PM — and that too, only after escalating the issue to the higher management.

This hospital is among the most expensive in Ahmedabad, and the total cost of admission can quickly exceed your budget, especially if you mention an amount you can afford.nnKey observations:nnHigh Costs:nnEven basic treatment in a normal bed can be assumed to cost over ₹50,000 per day (normal bed charges range from ₹3,000 to ₹15,000, plus other charges).nnBased on my relative's experience, ICU admissions can exceed ₹1,00,000 per day, (bed charges around ₹12,000, plus additional expenses.)nnLack of Clear Medical Advice:nnDoctors often avoid giving clear timelines for discharge or advice on moving to a normal bed based on patient improvement.nnIt appears that treatment decisions are more driven by financial considerations than patient care.nnRepetitive Testing:nnI observed that the same diagnostic tests were repeated on a daily basis. Each time, the reports mentioned a new issue, which felt questionable and possibly unnecessary.nnRevenue-Driven Approach:nnThe overall experience suggested that the hospital prioritizes maximizing revenue rather than offering transparent and patient-centered treatment

The Hospital is very clean and Hygienic. The staff out there are very supportive. The doctors are very good and talented. They used to care for their patients as if their own family members explained each and every plan of action very well. Dr. Hetal parekh of the neurology department is very good at placing it on record from my personal experiencenThe hospital is equipped with all the ultra modern equipment and machines all under a single roof.
