Review of Rotunda IVF from Jennifer Fleming
I had my baby girl 10 days ago at the Rotunda. From the moment I walked through the doors in Labour to leaving with our baby girl, we were looked after so so well. Special mention to Ellie on the post-natal ward and to Samantha on nights, for helping and supporting me through the first 2 days of having my little girl.\nAlso every nurse, doctor and midwife that we seen throughout the pregnancy were excellent also. Please god we will back in the future 👶🫶🏻
Rotunda procedure
I had a procedure done 3 February by Dr Fiona keogh and her team have to say they were amazing the care they gave me was fantastic from start to finish and also the nurses are so good they couldn’t do enough for me and Ann the porter the care she gave me she really look after me made sure I was ok she’s such a lovely lady so gentle and caring ,catering staff were also so nice and the food was lovely

Review of Rotunda IVF from Abk Trio
I am extremely disappointed with the overall visitor management and basic facilities at this hospital. While I am not commenting on the medical treatment itself, the experience for family members and visitors was highly unsatisfactory.\n\nThere is no proper waiting or seating area for visitors, which is unacceptable—especially in situations involving childbirth, a moment that is deeply emotional and important for families. Instead of showing understanding or empathy, the staff handled the situation in a very disrespectful manner.\n\nWe were treated as if we were doing something wrong, and security was unnecessarily involved, creating an uncomfortable and humiliating environment for our family. Such behavior is neither professional nor compassionate, particularly in a healthcare setting where sensitivity and respect should be a priority.\n\nHospitals should ensure not only quality medical care but also basic courtesy, clear communication, and humane treatment of patients’ families. This experience was disappointing and does not reflect the standards one would expect from a professional healthcare institution.\n\nNote: they didn’t mention anything specifically family cannot visit or. Anything expect if you have any flu we stand near the entrance for more than 2hours

I was with Rotunda private clinics as FTM and here is my honest review:\n\n1. Private consultant - great, she was absolutely lovely and reassuring throughout the pregnancy but you only get few minutes of their time so use it wisely. And obviously you’re shedding quite a bit of money based on who you choose.\n\n!! Imp thing to note is you don’t necessarily get a private room, they clearly have their priority list, based on all information I have from my friends, c-sections (elective as well as otherwise) are given a priority over vaginal births, which I found extremely offensive as that means they’re incentivising c-sections for private patients. !!\n\nPrivate clinics reception not so good, it’s very difficult to get through the phone lines and they never return your voicemails.\n\n2. Labour ward - my birth plan wasn’t followed much. While I am grateful for them reacting within minutes of a complication, they do tend to intervene a lot and something as simple as delayed cord clamping was not followed per my wishes to wait for 2-3 minutes. Labour suit is nice and midwifes were competent.\n\n3. Postnatal ward -\nHere is where huge improvement is required. It’s very crammed & overcrowded. There is barely space to stand beside your bed. I have seen coombe’s semi private ward and it’s much nicer with latest amenities. Some of the midwives and nurses were extremely helpful, whilst some old timers were rude, especially for a FTM who doesn’t know a lot. Help from midwife is definitely luck based but during night shift they’re understaffed when you’d likely need most support.\n\n4. Parking - always a nightmare! They really need to open campus parking for patients, there are often plenty empty spaces inside.\n\n5. Food - yes, this was great. No complaints here but you only get limited portions and might be very hungry still so pack your own snacks.\n\n6. Antenatal classes - these were good & helpful, online as well as in person. Only suggestion is to add more practical information for hospital stay including baby’s first couple nights which can be very challenging time.\n\n7. Lactation, ER, Uro & physio department - very helpful. They do follow ups and I truly felt cared for by these departments during my postnatal complications.

Thank you to the staff at the Rotunda Hospital for their professional care and kindness during my very recent stay at the hospital. I cannot express adequately my gratitude to everyone I encountered during my 5 night stay while I had, and recovered from surgery. From my initial contact with Admissions, care and professiionalism from my Consultant and her Theatre team, and the many nurses throughout the Gynae Wards, the catering and service staff and the student midwives from RCSI, every single interaction was pleasant, professional and I felt treated with the utmost kindness and care. Without doubt nurses do not choose a career, they choose a vocation. I will always remember and be grateful for this experience.

I delivered my daughter 3 weeks ago in Rotunda hospital. I was sceptical after reading reviews and hearing what people say. But to be honest all maternity hospitals in Dublin have the same reviews rate.\nI can tell now that I made the right decision by choosing Rotunda hospital.\nI had a fantastic experience.\nI was not a private patient. It was a public service.\nDoctors, nurses, and midwives are amazing there. Big, big thank you for their work.\nAll of them are very caring, attentive, and kind. I agree with the previous review, some patients just abuse the staff, wanting to be taken care just for them 24-7. Nurses has a lot of patients to look after, they are not personal servants.\nI had complications during delivery, doctors acted very fast and did a great job by taking everything under control.\nNext day doctor came to check up on me, making sure I feel OK.\nOnce again Big Thank you to all of the staff of Rotunda hospital.

The lack of empathy experienced at this hospital was unimaginable. I visited this hospital on Sunday may 4th with my 22 yr old daughter who was referred from Beaumont Hospital for an ultrasound on our arrival the ladies on reception was extremely helpful after we explained our referral. We had never been to this hospital before so we didn't know where to go or anything but receptionists before 8pm were very helpful. But then things took a turn after 8pm when there was shift change. At about 9.30 I approached the receptionist with long brunette hair for some guidance about my daughters scan and I was met by an extremely rude receptionist with horrendous attitude. I ask if I could get an update on my daughters scan to which I was told 'yeah you've a long wait ahead of you their's 8 in front of her and seriously she's only her 2 and half hours loads of people here much longer then her' with a sniggering tone at me. I explained that we had been in Beaumont for 8 hours already had all relevant test done and was referred for an ultrasound here and that's when she rudely turned to her fellow employee and laughed 'it doesn't work like that you go to the bottom of the list like everyone else who comes in' with another snigger. I explained that my daughter hadn't eaten for 24hrs and felt very unwell and asked could I get some advice if she could eat something and again with a sniggering attitude she replied 'I don't see why she can't eat and who told her she couldn't eat' which i replied the surgeon in Beaumont recommend that maybe she should fast as a precaution. Then rudely she pointed to ED dept and told me to ring the bell and ask someone over there. I understand this employee is the receptionist and not medical staff but some training in empathy wouldn't go a miss I would understand if this lady was at the end of her night shift and tired but seriously she was only 1 and half hours into her shift and seemed quite refreshed for her night ahead. I was never at any point expecting my daughter to jump in front of any patients and I understand that their's patients worse off then my daughter but all I wanted in a very worrying situation was help and reassurance not sniggering and rudeness from staff in an emergency dept. At 10.30pm my daughter then decided to leave as she felt she couldn't take anymore of the uncertainty around her scan so she went to reception to ask for her referral letter so she could return the next day and she was met with 'i wasn't here when you handed it in so I don't know where it is' when my daughter began to explain who she gave it too the blonde receptionist then proceeded to answer the phone and ignore my crying daughter not once did she look for her letter or even raise her head and make eye contact with my daughter. When she was finished with the phone call she also pointed to the emergency Dept and told 'ask someone over there it's not here'. My daughter went to the ED dept and they were extremely helpful and couldn't apologise enough to my daughter for the broken system in our health care. We don't hold the hospital responsible at all for the delays in ED dept but some empathy and help and not this constant finger pointing from the receptionists to an already over worked dept would clearly help all involved. TEAM WORK is key here not putting more pressure on an already over worked dept like ED room..

It was one of the best time in my life ❤️ in Rotunda Hospital. From reception to the ward and theatre I received warm welcome and reassuring. I was a private patient and it was very good decision to go this way. Special Thanks for Dr Rishi and his team in Theatre ❤️ who looked after me so well and my baby. Very warm Thanks for nurses and midwifes from Lillie Suite where myself and my baby received the best care days and night. Also I would like to say Big Thank you for catering staff, cleaning staff, porters and others who make us feel so happy. Once again BIG THANK YOU 😊 TO ALL OF YOU:) I will remember these days forever ❤️.

As someone who is not Irish, I was treated with the same warmth, dignity, and respect as if I were all-inclusive, and that meant the world to me.\n\nThe midwives deserve national recognition—they turned my labor into a beautiful and happy story. During my first days in the hospital, they made my start into motherhood so smooth and reassuring. Their postnatal care was exceptional; they visited me so often in the first three weeks that I truly felt like they were family.\n\nA special mention also to the catering team—the food in Rotunda is honestly better than half the restaurants in Dublin!\n\nThank you to everyone at Rotunda for making this journey such a wonderful one. We had the experience of having our first baby in Rotunda hospital and we found it to be an excellent facility. The staff are very friendly and helpful as great care was provided to my wife and new-born. We took the public care route. Throughout the pregnancy my wife was looked after well, and we had visited the emergency room a few times and there weren’t any delays in being checked. The level of care provided was excellent and my wife was touched by the treatment she received from the midwives during the delivery phase. We felt we were carefully guided throughout the process..
