Review of Family Hospital from Chris Fishburne
Thank You to Dr. Ponce, Maritza, Carlo Bonfante, Gabriel and all Nursing Staff! I've never been to Mexico before and going out of the country for cosmetic surgery could bring one huge amounts of anxiety....\nThe entire staff went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable from the drive from San Diego to Mexicali and back. Communication was present with everyone even those that didn't speak English used translation apps. The hospital cleanliness was A+. The professionalism and intentional care was phenomenal. After my surgery I was fed a light meal, Carlo took care of the hotel reservations during the surgery, Maritza made sure we picked up whatever medications were needed and kept in contact with me until I was officially settled in my room. She and Carlo checked on me regularly. Any questions or concerns I had she would follow up in a timely manner. Doctor Ponce did an AMAZING job with my surgery and was available to answer ANY questions I had the next day post-op along with providing future communication if I had any other questions or concerns after leaving Mexico.\nTo have my first cosmetic surgery experience be filled with so much quality and love was amazing! 5-STARS!.

I came to this hospital in October 2021 to get a tubal reversal. We made the decision to go to Mexico for surgery because of the cost compared to the U.S and I don’t regret my decision! It was clean, professional, and comfortable. The doctor who performed my surgery explained everything to my husband and I thoroughly and even showed us pictures. Although I do recommend taking someone with you if you can, who is bilingual because some of the nurses and I had trouble communicating since I don’t know Spanish, luckily my husband does and was able to translate things though. Maritza was the person who facilitated the appointment and was very responsive, she even met us at the hospital on a Saturday (the day of my appointment) to check us in. Most importantly though my tubal reversal was successful! I’ve had an hsg procedure back home in San Diego which confirmed this. I have not gotten pregnant yet though but I’m hopeful it will happen soon.I just wanted to share my experience to any other person it may help..

The hospital was very clean and the staff was very attentive, excellent service. My medical tourist Maritza and Carlo guided me through everything answered all my questions. My initial contact was Aileen via email and she was great! My only complaint about the hospital was that they did not give my family who was not allowed to wait in the lobby any updates in regards to my surgery but other than that everything went smooth. Doctor Siriñana was friendly and answered all my questions. My follow up visit was smooth as well not much of a wait and no line to pass back to the USA.

Save yourself the disappointment and future surgeries and don't come here. Dr. Marco Sariñana did a horrible job on my breast lift and other surgeries. So much so that I will have to have additional surgeries to fix what he destroyed. Yes, DESTROYED!! If Dr. Sariñana was in the US, I would be suing him for malpractice. I was offered corrective surgery to fix Dr. Sariñana mistakes at a cost of an additional 1700.00 US. More money is a reoccurring theme with this hospital.\nThere were so many things that went wrong. Carlo didn't give me the correct date for my surgeries. He scheduled them the day I flew in. So after a long day of travel, driving to the hospital in a hot van (no AC) in temperature of 110°+, I arrive at the hospital at 2p dehydrated and told I am going into surgery at 8p. The first thing I had to do was pay for the surgeries. I am glad I saved all my emails from Carlo because Maritza tried to charge me more. Even when I showed her the email, she said it was an old quote. However, she wanted my money more than she wanted to have me cancel right there, so the quote was honored for the time being. I was so dehydrated that the nurse had to poke me 3 times before she could keep a vein from collapsing. I was never given the opportunity to speak with the doctor about what I wanted done or my expectations. So, when you see “presentation of surgical plan" in your paperwork, that’s not going to happen. When I did see the doctor, he had me stand naked in front of a room full of people while he drew marks on me. After a few minutes, I was guided to a table to lay down. Next thing I remember, I am waking up. The two days in the hospital were fine. Mexican nurses don’t cater to you but neither do US nurses. All of the nurses were great and helpful. Language was never a problem because most of the staff spoke some English and Google Translate helped with the rest. The hospital is clean and functional, but not over the top like the US. I can reason that is one way they keep their cost down.\nAfter I was discharged from the hospital and going to the hotel, Maritza tells me that I might owe more money because of the mistake Carlo made the quote. After I told Maritza that I had a strict budget for everything and no more money to give, the problem with the money was dropped. I wasn’t given any instructions on how to care for myself after I was discharged. So basically, I was on my own. However, I did get my receipts for the money I paid the day before I left Mexico (13 days later), but was never given any medical records.\nThe only good experience I had was with the private nurses that I hired to care for me. I came alone and was sure I would need help. I am glad I made that decision. They were amazing!!\nMy best advise, find someone else. There are great doctors in Mexico, however this hospital don’t have them.\nEdit: I spoke with Maritza several times and told her how unhappy I was. That's why I was looking at corrective surgery before I left. The additional cost shouldn't have been my responsibility to pay. But, I was alone and didn't have anyone to advocate for me with people who get defensive and loud. Again, it should be telling that the response from the hospital doesn't refute anything in my review because everything is true.

Review of Family Hospital from Christopher Babb
I'm not exactly a trusting person when it comes to medical procedures. After 10 minutes in the care of Hospital de la Familia I realized I was in good hands.\n\nThe facilities are the cleanest I've seen. The staff is friendly and helpful. I don't speak Spanish and the staff still always took the time to make sure there was someone to translate and put my concerns at ease. Five stars all the way..
