Review of Maastricht UMC+ from Ana Lino
Amazing hospital with a very competent emergency service. I was on holiday with my mother and she twisted her ankle and couldn't walk, so we called the hospital, they were very quick to set an appointment and take care of her feet. The whole team was so kind, helpful and professional. We were worried about the costs as foreigners, but the prices are very fair and you can use the European Health card. Thank you so much!!!
Spoedeisende hulp
Door erge pijn en doofheids klachten in mijn been. Ben ik naar de spoedeisende hulp gegaan in Maastricht. In de eerste instantie bij het aanmelden en voor controle was het in orde. Tot in de behandelkamer. De dienstdoende arts had mij onderzocht en zou even overleggen met de chirurg. Naar een uur wachten was de arts nog niet terug. Nagevraagd of ze mij vergeten waren. Kreeg ik een bot, onbeschoft antwoord. Na twee en half uur ben ik weg gegaan. Nu naar een paar dagen, geprobeerd om hulp te krijgen via de poli. Wordt mij hulp verweerd, omdat ik toen weggegaan ben. Ik moet maar kontakt opnemen met mijn huisarts. Was het antwoord, heel bot en kortaf waren de antwoorden die ik kreeg en moeilijk een woord ertussen te krijgen. Ik voelde mij als een niets, aansteller, een last. Zo ga je niet mensen/patiënten om.

Worst hospital around, have a severe ear infection was just told to take paracetamol. I have never been in so much pain, I know when it's bad. Doctor in AE didn't even look at my ear. If I loose my hearing at all because if their incompetence then I'm just taking them to court for everything.

The worst hospital experience i ever had in my life. The nurses are rude and no one can answer your questions. I was gonna go into a surgery and the doctors didn't even want to answer my questions about complications. They left in the middle of the conversation.They don't work according to the procedure a lot of the time. The doctors googled my symptoms right in front of me, every time. They let me wait hungry 48hours for an "emergency surgery", while dismissing my pain, not checking my vitals or not checking on me in general at all for 24 hours. I told the nurses my pain was a 10 and they said there are no doctors working right now, and I should "try to lie on my other side". When I said I have a risk of thrombosis and would like a shot, they said that they forgot it last night and now it doesn't make sense anymore. I asked to get it after my surgery, and they said "if you don't like the way we do our care here you can leave". This is a completely normal procedure, and they completely denied it.\nBut I was screamed at when asked if I may go home instead of waiting for absolutely nothing for 2 days, with no care, or no doctors nearby. They are careless, negligent, and mean. The nurses and doctors included, I've never met hospital staff this incompetent. Their favourite sentence in this hospital is "i don't know", and they can't ask anyone either. No one knows anything and no one can help you with anything. Worst hospital staff I have ever witnessed.

31st December 2023 23.45 the doctor takes me in to check me. I was throwing up the whole day and had fever, at some point started puking blood. She ‘checked’ me and said I had nothing. I got prescribed some medicine so went to the Pharmacy in the hospital a few minutes after midnight. By the time the lady finds my medicine, I was passed out on the floor. I woke up to a team of nurses running up to me with a bed. They took me to a room, took my sugar and oxygen levels and did a cardiograph. Only to keep me 4 hours there and tell me to leave.\nHappy New Year to me.\n6 months later, they come charging me 300 euro for the care they gave me, and marked down my visit there as unimportant care’ TWICE.\nThis system is a troll
