Review of Baddow Hospital from Chloe Johnson
Thank you to the wonderful team at Phoenix Hospital Chelmsford! I visited the hospital as a Mum desperate to relieve her little boy of a very nasty rash which had become infected.\nI called the friendly team and got an appointment with the lovely Paediatric Dermatologist Dr Fatima Awdeh for the same day!!\nPrescription in hand we walked away with a diagnosis and plan for getting him better!\nThank you again to you all!

Outstanding service provided from start to finish every-time, DR Onen is second to none very thorough and always shows a concern into your wellbeing. Reception staff are great. Highly recommend Pheonix hospital!.

Had a foot operation today my surgeons name was ewan, well what can I say, 5 star service from himself and ALL of the staff there...felt well cared for and the most important thing was they listened which meant the world to me..thanks guys for looking after me today yr all AMAZING oh and the amazing designer boot I have to wear 🫣🤣❣️.

5 stars for the hospital itself. It is lovely with a very relaxed, calm and clean atmosphere. Reception staff welcoming and friendly. The dermatologist I saw was also very kind and reassuring. HOWEVER 3 stars for lack of communication! The time I had to wait for my mole biopsy results was unacceptable. After 8 weeks, still no news so I had to chase them up. I contacted reception who told me to contact the dermatologists secretary directly. Which I did. He replied by text several days later saying all fine. I then received a letter from him in the post 2 weeks after that confirming the same as the text. This letter was dated 15th Dec - so they had had my results back in 3 weeks but had left me waiting anxiously for over 2 months!! Which would have been even longer had I not chased it up. When you pay for private health care you expect better to be honest.

Apart from the initial booking process, everything felt somewhat less than professional. Although they were relatively small issues, taken altogether the overall impression I had was not one of an efficient organisation.\nMy appointment was changed to later in the day as there had been technical issues with a scanner.\nOn arrival I was not greeted by either of the two receptionists: one was having a personal conversation with a colleague, the other was looking at a box of coloured pencils. Eventually they noticed me. I had to ask to fill in the registration form (that I had been told about on the phone on booking).\nWhen it came to pay the credit card machine wasn't working. After several attempts I was told to go and they later phoned to collect payment.\nI had to chase them about my results. Although I was self-funding they refused to share the results with me, saying I had to go through my GP. This was not the quick service I thought I was paying for..
