I went in to have an IUD placed for the first time. Everyone was super nice and patient with me. The nurse practitioner was amazing and talked me through the entire procedure, making sure I knew what was happening.\nI did have an adverse reaction after placement, bad cramps, nausea, clamminess and overheating, however that can happen to anyone. What really helped was the nurse talking to me and making sure I breathed. She also got my support person as another means of comfort. They both let me ramble on to distract myself and could empathize with my experience. I left with the cramps at a low and I was doing much better.\nDefinitely make sure you eat before getting an IUD and that it is not right before your period. That did not give me a good starting point for this. Also, pain meds and a heating pad. Make sure you have somebody to check on you.

Review of Planned Parenthood - Anchorage Health Center from Autumn Poisson

I went in for a basic screening appointment and was charged for it fully because the doctor didn't want to code it properly and my insurance covers this type of work 100%. Not to mention how rude the staff were to me when I was trying to get my problem solved. I value my peace and I'm not broke, so I paid, but I feel bad for those that need to see the doctor and are not as fortunate as I am. This country treats people horribly when it comes to health care and sadly, Planned Parenthood is part of the problem, not the solution. I will not be going to Planned Parenthood in the future..
