Planned Parenthood - Tempe

I go every three months for a birth control shot, so as close to a regular as I can be. Every time I’ve come in they’ve all been wonderful and make me feel comfortable. As someone who has been diagnosed with white coat syndrome, it’s such a relief. Most recently I dealt with Jada and she made me feel like a friend! Highly recommend if you want a team that makes comfort and quality care a priority.

First of all, I wanna say be wary of reviews for Planned Parenthood. A lot of them are fake and just meant to fear monger those looking for support. I was skeptical, and even a bit fearful coming her upon looking at the reviews. But in reality the women here were so kind to me, and very welcoming. There's even a sheet at the front-desk showing which insurance they do and do not take. I was 18, and had rarely ever even been to the doctors office, Much-less anything like this. But they helped me through every step of the way..

UPDATE YOUR HOURS!nBoth Google and website PP uses for scheduling say the Tempe clinic opens just after 7am, this is FALSE, they open at 10am on Mondays, 9 on Tuesdays, every single day of the week they open at a different time. If you schedule an appt early in the morning, it is probably an ERROR.nnSince I’m temporarily not on any insurance, and newly pregnant, I wanted to go to PP for an ultrasound just to make sure my pregnancy wasn’t ectopic. They advertise their ultrasounds as “low cost” and say “you don’t need insurance” which made me try to schedule. Trying to book online was a nightmare, and due to a lack of transparency of price for the scan, I chose to see a different provider..

I'm giving this a 2 because I do feel like the women who I spoke to were polite and nice to me, I also understand they were only doing their job. I am 5 weeks pregnant. Not sure if I have an IUD in place or not. No Insurance so when I asked if I could have bloodwork done to be sure my HCG levels looked good they told me they don't do that there. Also I had an ultrasound scheduled for self pay. I unfortunately didn't have the money to self pay once I found out what my regular OB appointment would be that included all the testing needed. I was told that Planned Parenthood was there to help families who needed care but didn't have the means to pay. I'm a stay at home mom. My husband works full time but with taxes and all the bills we have to pay we needed some help today. I was turned away and told that I could not set up a payment arrangement to pay off my service I needed. I feel like if PP really cared or wanted my money they would honor that. Just sad and upset to have to wait a few weeks to be seen at my regular OB. I can't afford two ultrasounds now and again at 8 weeks. I will be added to my husbands insurance at open enrollment and was hoping for help in the interim. So don't be fooled...their sign on the front door that says "Insurance or not, we have you covered" that is not true!

Awesome place!! Everybody is so nice. They take the time to explain everything to you. I had to wait a bit but I think it's because when you're with them they don't rush you out and let you ask all your questions. The doctor with the purple hair was great. She answered all my questions and didn't talk down to me. She was so sweet and kind. I felt like I was in good hands. I wish she was my regular doctor! I'm coming to Planned Parenthood from now on.

I honestly don't understand why this place has such terrible reviews.
I went in there yesterday and was seen at a decent time, and their system was down so everything was on paper and they still took care of me.
I walked in being completely nervous, and no matter what the staff/doctor made me feel comfortable and went over my options without judgment and was super knowledgeable. I definitely recommend this place.

So beyond pleased with this place!! I went with a friend for support and we were both blown away. The staff was so polite; Victoria explained the options to us and Dr. Burton was the attending physician. They were both so extraordinary and made her feel so comfortable. They really took their time answering any questions and were so friendly. The whole thing took about an hour. I will definitely be recommending this location to friends and fam from now on! Clean facility, prompt care without making you feel rushed and ROCKSTAR staff!

I wanted a quick exam and this place was close to my work. My apt was at 9:30am, I got there at 9:15am in order to fill out paperwork. I walked in filled in the forms and waited 30 min to be called up to the reception counter, where I was asked Again why I was seeing the dr. After that i waited additional 10 min before another girl/nurse called me in to a (office) room and was questioning me AGAIN what my reason to see the Dr was. At this point I advised the girl I had to go back to work and would like to see the Dr as soon as possible since I already have spent an hour and a half waiting. She said sorry and continued with questions. After about 15 more min with her, she took me in to an exam room where she said Dr Herrick will be in shortly. I waited in the exam room 35 min before realizing no one is coming to see me and I need to leave! I got dressed and went out, no one stopped me or cared. I asked the receptionist not to charge my ins and she said she wouldn't. This was the worst experience I have ever had in a healthcare facility and dont want anyone to go through this and waste their time! At the end of the day I didn't get antibiotics that I needed and wasted my time with work and cant really leave again during work hours. This is unacceptable and unproffesional and I would stay far far away!

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL...PLZ dont go there..
This is the most awful place i have seen before. The girls are so rude and dont know how to talk to their customers.
They will try to get money out of your pocket saying they couldnt verify your insurance on saturday. I came to know about that only after going there on saturday.
They are highly mismanaged. We had an appointment at 12:45 pm. We were kept waiting for a very long time, when we were asking why we need to wait for such a long time, the girl there was asking us to reschedule the appointment and come back some other day.
we were kept waiting till 2:10 pm and still after they they took 1 hr 30 more on the name of procedure and all.

Last week I went in for the abortion pill procedure. I arrived early for my appointment but was not seen until an hour later, however the waiting wasn't the issue for me. When they took me back, I sat in the office and signed paperwork, they took my blood, and I was finally ready to see the doctor. He came right in and performed the pelvic exam. He then told me to get dressed and he would be right back in to give me the pill and I would be on my way. It's typical to wait a little bit, as doctors are very busy. After 20 minutes, I could hear him speaking to other patients and employees telling them to have a great rest of their weekends and I could tell people were leaving. After 45 minutes since he left my room, I looked at the clock and realized that the office closing hours were 30 minutes prior. I kept telling myself to be patient but I couldn't help but think I was forgotten about. After an hour I finally opened the door and saw him standing in the hallway. He gave me a nasty look as if I was in trouble for leaving my room without permission. I looked at him and smiled and said in a joking matter "hi sorry just making sure you didn't forget about me!" I went back into my room and the door opened a second later. He stormed in, pissed at me for calling him out when he CLEARLY forgot I was a patient of his. He made some bullshit comment about how he would give me the pill now so he doesn't keep me waiting any longer. After taking the pill out of the packaging, he dropped it on the floor. He then told me, "the five second rule applies in this situation because this pill is expensive" and put the pill in front of me. Had I not already been pissed off, I would have made a comment about how wrong that was but quite frankly I just wanted to get the hell out of there. I swallowed the pill and let myself out into the waiting room. Everyone had left. The place was closed, and the only person in sight was my boyfriend sitting in an empty room waiting for me. Apparently the front desk staff tried convincing him that I wasn't still back there and that he could drive around back to see if I was outside (???????) ANYWAYS for a place who prides themselves on being caring and helpful, I was neglected and forgotten.

I had an appointment at 12:30 and was not seen until 2 so that was kind of annoying but once I was in there they were super polite and very helpful and got me out of there fast. I was not alone for more then 2 minutes each time they asked me to wait. They definitely care.

This place is awful. The waiting area is dirty and unappealing. They do not communicate well with other loactions. The admin girls are rude and very unfriendly. I would not go here agian. There are other options out there. Just use google. The customer serivcie line is horrible, rude, and misinformed as well.
