I really loved this clinic I felt cared about . The staff was wonderful and supportive Dr Gelety did my endometriosis surgery and I got pregnant shortly after\nAfter 5 years of trying most on our own a year and half through clinic I got pregnant via ivf\nMy son is happy and healthy and my husband and I are so so happy our family finally has a little one\nIf we choose to have another we will be going back here

Dr. Gelety has never spent more than 10 minutes at a time with me. He walks in, does his thing, and walks out. I have to ask when do I schedule my appointment, what did you see or the results, what's the plan, etc. He never once communicated to me.Then, another time on the phone he failed to check my records before calling me and we got into a disagreement about the medicine he wanted to prescribe, even though he had not expressed to me the month before that he had a problem with it and he gave it to me then. He then responded with flippant attitude 'Oh good' when asked why I was no longer seeing my previous fertility doctor. He had 'suspicions' that something might be going on but never even offered to do testing for it. Dr. Gelety doesn't care anymore. He needs to retire.

Consider going somewhere else. They have huge billing, safety and customer service issues:\n\n1) Over the course of 4 months, no one ever took a single set of vital signs.\n2) Despite putting me on a medication that affected my weight, they never once weighed me in office, and when I asked to be weighed, Dr. Gelety said they do not have a scale.\n3) Dr. Gelety talked over me and my husband in our initial consultation, and then in subsequent visits, he was making statements and suggested taking steps that made it clear he did not remember who I was or what my care plan was.\n4) I was in touch with Savannah via email most of the time, and then when I needed a time-sensitive medical refill, she did not respond for days. She blamed me for the delay because I put her name in my email. She said no one else in the office can handle her patient messages while she's out because of HIPPA. As a nurse, I know this isn't true; when you are out of the office, you must have someone cover your inbox, so that there is continuity of care and so that patients have access to the things they need. Healthcare shouldn't stop because you are on vacation or sick.\n5) When I asked one of the staff for a medical reason why the medication was making me feel so ill and causing such sharp pain, she responded by saying, "It makes your ovaries go crazy", or something to that effect. It was an unsatisfactory, unsettling, and non-medical response.\n6) I was emailing them mostly because every time I tried calling, they would put me on hold, and after 5 or 10 minutes, I'd give up. No one ever came back on the line to help me. The receptionist was rude to me when I complained about it.\n7) The billing lady Richelle would not believe me when I told her what my primary insurance is, and that the reason why they couldn't get paid was because they were out of compliance with my insurance company. I argued with her over weeks about this, and she was still submitting claims to an insurance company that I have no coverage with. When the claims were rejected, she threatened to bill me out of pocket, which caused me a great deal of stress, as this would have been a terrifying financial burden, and unnecessary, because I DO have insurance.\n8) Once she rectified her end, the bill given to me was incorrect; they tried charging me $115 over what I actually owed them.\n9) After getting off the medication they prescribed, my cycles have not been the same. I do not have any hard evidence, but I do believe the medication harmed my fertility, and I have less of a chance of conceiving now, than before I began seeing Dr. Gelety.\n10) Neither Dr. Gelety nor his staff educated me about the medication they prescribed or its side effects. No handouts, no education sit downs with the doctor or staff. I began taking it, and when I began to feel ill have problems, I did all my own research in order to figure out what was going on.\n\nVery disappointed with this place, and it was very disruptive to my health and life..

Forever thankful with Dr. Gelety, after struggling for 13 years to have a baby I finally had my rainbow baby. I had given up hope of ever having a baby but thanks to a friend who recommended I go to Dr. Gelety my dream finally became a reality. Dr. Gelety really went into details of treatments and what procedures were available at his clinic. I really liked that we tried the natural way first and if nothing happened then we would go into other treatments. My daughter is now 5 years old and I'm so happy I went to Dr. Gelety. His staff is wonderful and make sure to answer any questions you may have. Thank you Dr. Gelety and staff! Never give up on trying for baby it's worth it.

We used Dr Gelety in 2016 and will forever be grateful for our bundle of joy who is now 6. We transferred from another doctor where we had no success and felt a lack of caring from the previous doctor. The staff is nice and were able to get us in quickly when needed. If we ever decide to do IVF again we would definitely return here!.

We are just so grateful we found Dr. Gelety and the wonderful staff here. From the very beginning when we made our initial appointment, they were very honest with the costs and there were no financial surprises whatsoever. We were treated with such kindness and care not only by Dr. Gelety but by the staff as well, every step of the way. Dr. Gelety is fast paced but I truly feel it's his way of making sure he can help as many people as possible. We never had to wait more than a few minutes for any appointment and never had a question go unanswered. We are through our first trimester now and sadly had to get a new OB but Dr. Gelety and his staff will certainly be missed..

To say the least undergoing IVF is extremely exhausting. But to have a team like Dr.Gelety's makes everything so much more easier. They care about their patients and our outcome they truly are invested in your treatment. The IVF nurse would answer my questions on the weekend, after working hours she was always there for me and for that I am forever grateful.

If you wanna be treated like a statistic and possibly be abandoned this is the place. They abandoned me as a patient after I spent 3500+ on meds and had the audacity to ask about taking vitamins and hormone tracking as I have irregular periods. Ghosted over an email with questions.
The nurse was fake nice enough and the only time her facade cracked was when I would ask her questions she wasn't ready to answer or I'd ask questions over and over since they wouldn't answer or address my concerns. Her response was always the same and very rehearsed... I didn't have a problem with it until I realize she didn't have any real answers.
Dr. Gelety was nice enough, answered all my questioned, didn't quite assuage my curiosity registering my weight or my irregular periods. Both he and the nurse just basically ignored and never acknowledged that I even asked or said anything about it. He did an ultrasound the first appointment which I thought was only a consult but no... they wanted to rush me thru the procedure. Offered very little guidance outside of meds and the scheduling to harvest. They weren't really concerned with my concerns just getting me thru the procedure.
The nurse told me that it was annoying to have to help patients with their shots and that's when I started feeling uneasy. ... I have a traumatic past with needles as a kid so I asked a lot of questions. Her answers were unhelpful. She forgot to fake smile because this was probably the third time in a half hour period I asked about the shots. I don't like having to explain my traumas(and I didn't) but I needed to know the exact process and the side effects and yaddayadda.
So anyway now I have wasted all the money on meds. And have terrible anxiety about going to other clinics and asking questions because it's hard enough to get any doctor to listen to me as it is... I gotta go and pretend like this traumatic nonsense never happened.

My husband and I were seeking out help for infertility. Dr. Gelety and his team are so friendly and excellent at what they do! The nurses and staff answer any questions I have and always make sure to keep me in loop if theres anything to know. Dr. Gelety is great at what he does, appointments are quick and theres never any wait time! Ive always been seen within 10 minutes of check in, and of course lets not forget Dr. Gelety got us pregnant after just 2 cycles working with him!!! He knew exactly what we needed and didnt hesitate to act on that and get me any procedure we wanted, and needed for initial evaluation. We are so grateful and will continue to work with him for future children too. Thank you Dr. Gelety!!!!

Did I mention that this is a reproductive facility?!? A place women go when they already feel defeated.
I didn't proceed with my appointment & I would be lying if I said I walked out. I was forced to leave as I was extremely upset with how the doctor acted & his nurses. Despite the ability to not agree, he was rude, cowardly & is not someone I would trust and I will make sure every women is warned.
He might be one of the few fertility doctors in the area But you have options. Don't be so quick to support a doctor that wont support you.

Dr. Gelety and his team are amazing! They were upfront about what my options were, there were no hidden costs, they were fast yet efficient. If it weren't for them I would never have my two beautiful babies that I do have. They were always understanding and caring. I honestly don't have one bad thing to say about this clinic!

I called the nurse and she told me to take the medication that I was given which was three different kinds at the same time even when I was ovulating. When I finally got to speak with the doctor he told me "no I was only supposed to take the Clomid" so that ruined my first cycle And these medications are not cheap with no insurance. My second cycle success!! but sadly it up an ectopic pregnancy 7 1/2 weeks. Regardless we still went back to him this year. 2017 We trust him, we like him, and he just gives off that vibe that he really cares
However, I feel that SOME of his nursing staff and some of his receptionist need to step up their personal relation skills just a little bit more and be more in sync with the doctor. In my opinion if not under constant guidance they think they know the answers that we need to ask the doctor specifically. One receptionist was really rude to My Husband and didn't want to schedule an appointment before my cycle started which was in just a few days. She would've had me scheduled after my cycle day three, so therefore I would not of been able to take my Clomid that month. The second receptionist that we spoke to said "come on in and if you're a little bit late that's fine." Seeing as how all we needed was a refill.
We had one but waited a year before going back to Gelety so the pharmacy said " sorry, it's been to long you have to see the doctor." We were just getting the prescription refill. Gelety came in and when I explain the situation he was very nice polite said" no problem" Wrote me the prescription for Clomid and told me to come back in a couple weeks due to the risk of the ectopic pregnancy.
I HIGHLY recommend this man to any man & woman or couple that are trying to conceive a baby. He will not stop till you get that baby, that's attitude I got from him. I've had two boys 16 & 12. So he checked my husbands sperm count & mobility and said " I can't express enough how high of a count you have and great mobility- he was just as excited as we were!!! Because I have no female problems he thinks clomid is the way to go. We trust him. Just wish the ultra sound cost could be lowered for those paying cash on a sliding scale income. That would be generous & selfless of him. . The Walkers
Doctors experience: Gelety really cares. I genuinely believe that he wants to help people that are have infertility problems, that he's not in it just for the money..
I hope in the future that he considers help with those that have no insurance and are paying cash that he would please possibly do a sliding scale fee on Ultra Sounds( basic check ups)
He is noninvasive, easy to get along with, gets excited for you, shows compassion when you you're upset.
Your first appoint be ready to anwser a lot of questions. WRITE THESE ANSWERS down and take them in with you to be prepared FOR HIS QUESTIONS .
*Know your cycles & right them down. *Date of last menstrual flow. *How long have you been trying under 40 ( a year or two with no success he'll help) Over 40 if in 6 months no success go see him) *Write down how many days between each menstrual flow. *After your period ends but before it begins is your luthal phase, write down how many days that is. Because he *NEEDS* this info & no sense in waisting time on your consult. Come prepared.
*How many pregnancies? *How many live births? *Ages? *Any miscarriages, abortions or ectopics? He don't judge. *Coffee ( how much?) *Alcohol,( how much?) *Smoking ( how much) *Drugs ( what kind?) *Any family history you feel may be important and if you've ever been diagnosed with endometriosis? *A medical background of ovarian cyst? The more you write down and take with you to see him with you the quicker the consultation and the better he can help you! With your accurate honest notes, just don't forget to bring them in lol

I underwent fertility treatments out of town but Dr. Gelety performed the monitoring I needed locally. I found Dr. Gelety to be very helpful and caring. Even though he was only monitoring me for another doctor, he treated me like his own patient and would even speak to me personally on the phone to answer my questions rather than through a nurse.
The 4 star is due to their lab not being contracted with any insurance company meaning that you have to pay 100% up front and submit invoices to insurance for reimbursement; however, the ladies at the front desk were very helpful with this process and promptly emailed me any receipts and explanations I needed to submit to insurance.
I was surprised to read the negative reviews on Yelp after my positive experiences at this clinic although I did not go through a full IVF cycle here. Having worked with at least 6 different clinics over the course of my treatment, including some of the best in the country, it is my experience that fertility doctors can get overbooked with overlapping patient schedules and sometimes overlook things -- and that seems to be across the board with all clinics. As a patient, you have to inform yourself about treatments in general and specifically about your treatment protocol -- ask many questions, stay on top of the nurses and your care to make sure you are getting all of the information and help you need. Don't wait until after hours if you have a question about your meds. Fertility doctors learn more about their patients and how their bodies react to different drugs and treatments over time and failed cycles -- if it works on the first try, you are very lucky. Different doctors have different opinions about what will work for you and they are not all right all of the time.
Also, fertility treatments are incredibly expensive and much, if not all, of the costs are out of pocket and you have to deal with this at an extremely emotionally vulnerable time -- be prepared that the financial side of it is going to be very stressful and seem unfair (all you want is a baby and most families do not have to pay for theirs!!) no matter which clinic you go to and however respectful the billing office may or may not be.

I truly felt Arizona Center for Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility was my saving grace. I am disheartened to write now that they forever scarred me and I will never step foot in this place again. I was told I could never get pregnant, and I knew it had to be true being I had been off birth control for so long (years) and nothing ever came close to me being pregnant. Until the day I felt off and decided to take a pregnancy test to find out I was. My gyno told me to try Dr. Gillety (sp) so we excitedly did. He seemed 100% about us the first few appointments until it started feeling like our business and my ultrasounds were a burden. He would be super quick with appointments and would always ask are we on or off our progesterone (which is what I needed like many women, but I lack it completely) my last week of my first trimester he said lets go off it! I questioned this even though he's a specialist and he said you only need it your first trimester then your body starts reproducing it as it should. I believe he totally forgot about my medical history and how dramatically quickly my levels dropped without it. So much so I was taking 2-3 pills a day. And I was still spotting every couple weeks. Five days after he took me off it I knew something was wrong and miscarried. Now I am constantly receiving statements charging me for multiple pregnancy tests from my time seeing him. It makes no sense. They told me they couldn't tell why I miscarried after the D&C... I can't explain to you how this business and unprofessionalism changed my life. (Also, Erin (sp) who works as a receptionist and billing is extremely unprofessional and charged me for a service the day I found out I miscarried before I even went into the office, now I have to figure out how to get that charge back since clearly they didn't do the blood service due to seeing the heart beat stopped).

The reviews seem well written and there is no reason Yelp should exclude most of them, other than the clinic hires legal and technical companies to try and hide their bad reviews. If you carefully search the reviews and read all of the reviews available online, you will see that there is more going on with this doctor than his incompetence as a Reproductive Endocrinologist. He has had lawsuits, many complaints to the medical board and many women and couples who have been dissatisfied with his unprofessional conduct.
At first I thought the poor reviews were simply women who were unhappy with not becoming pregnant. When I visited their office, it was dirty. They were understaffed. The doctor looked like he was holding back rolling his eyes at me when I asked him questions. The office seems to dictate what type of care and diagnosis they will give you based on your budget, ability to pay or insurance benefits. I don't think Dr. Gelety, even with decades of experience, has any idea how to properly diagnosis infertility. He doesn't care what caused your infertility or have any advice on how to naturally improve or correct your infertility. If he is getting paid, he is willing to be patient, but ultimately, I feel like all he wants to do is push IVF.
I could hear Dr. Gelety yelling on the phone while I was waiting for my visit. I don't know who he was talking to, but he was loud, rude, condescending and it was honestly, just scary that he didn't care that patients could overhear his demeanor. This man is rude.
Can anyone recommend a good RE that takes Tricare?
I'm not sure if I can go back to this guy. The nurse seemed to care, but the office seemed understaffed, confused, messy, grungy and disorganized. It looks like the doctor tries to see too many patients. I don't know if I want my future family to be in the care and hands of this place. "amanda m" thanks for sharing your story.
