My husband and I were so fortunate to get a recommendation to see Dr. Winkler for fertility treatments. We came into this process thinking there's a small chance of succeeding, after reading a lot online and looking at grim statistics, and we felt pretty discouraged. Meeting with Dr. Winkler, from the very first consultation, we felt like we were in such good hands. Throughout the whole process Dr. Winkler, Maribel (our angel case manager!) and the whole team have been there for us in every step of the way, guiding with so much patience, knowledge and care, and giving us such amazing advice regarding some very heavy and confusing decisions we had to make. Every single advice turned out to be the right move in retrospect. Dr. Winkler even saved us thousands of dollars by helping us decide not to go through unnecessary medical procedures which we were considering. I can't thank her and the team enough.nnAt the age of 40, we are so happy to say that after only one IVF cycle we got pregnant with our first embryo transfer, and currently nearing the end of the first trimester with our healthy beloved baby girl.nnEndless gratitude. ♥️

We had a great experience with LARC. Dr. Kalan and the entire staff are compassionate, knowledgeable and great communicators. I had an egg retrieval and three transfers at LARC. I always felt like Dr. Kalan was invested in our success and I appreciated his thoughtful approach and consideration of my preferences as well. It felt like a collaborative process but I was also very confident in his expertise and good judgment. The nurses are also great and were super responsive to my questions. Highly recommend.

Only giving it 2 stars because the Dr was helpful. I had Alanna as my case worker. She was awful the entire experience. She would ignore my emails and calls all throughout the day and right at the end of the business day she would then get back to me. She would reply to my agent ASAP in the same email I initially would send. (Ex. I emailed at 9:30am and she never replied. I told my agent I still hadn’t heard from her so she jumped in the email and told Alanna to reply and within 9 minutes she then replied. But in 7.5 hours from when my email was sent she never replied.) it was like this DAILY. It was a fight to get her to reply to me about my IVF case. She took my case as a joke and never ever gave me information unless I had to pry it out of her. When asking to just talk to the Dr she told me “I don’t believe that would benefit anything”. Ultimately because of Alanna I would NEVER recommend this clinic. Awful awful experience..

This is one of the best places for not just fertility care, but medical care in general, in LA.nnWe started exploring our fertility options with another practice (big brand name). Something just didn't feel quite right and so I decided to look at second options. LARC was quite literally the closest office to my house, so I thought to give it a shot. Best decision I've ever made. I knew it was right when he took nearly A FULL HOUR in our initial intake call together. His thorough care did not stop there.nnDr. Kalan and his team are with you every.step.of.the.way. He is caring and compassionate while extremely informative and educative. He is honest and kind, while also straightforward and professional with his recommendations. He shows up to literally every single appointment and check in. Best part - he is a real human being - and a pretty funny one at that. We so enjoyed getting to know Dr. Kalan over about 6 months of treatment together. We did two rounds of IUI which did not work, but our first IVF/ET was a success. Never once did I feel discouraged or intimidated by the journey with him. In fact, I now am trying to change the conversation away from "I hope you never have to go through IVF" to "It's incredibly empowering and an amazing option". That really is how we feel after working with LARC.nnI couldn't finish this review without shouting out his AMAZING support staff. Gabby, Ashley, Jen and the whole front desk team are nothing short of amazing. Never rushed, always thorough, always available to answer your questions. i dont quite know where to start with this review..... I am a surrogate and this clinic was the IPs (intended parents) IVF clinic. The times I had to come in person for medical screening/ultrasound etc, there was a terrible wait with no one updating letting us know they are delayed.
When I was finally cleared to start the medical cycle, I got sent all medications without anyone explaining and telling me how to do the injections etc. I thought that was very odd, thankfully my agency was helpful and explained how to do it. During this cycle I was set up with a local monitoring clinic for all my lining checks before the transfer date. (I had 4 lining checks before transfer) Though this is my second time journey as a surrogate, having 4 lining checks is way over the top, last time I had 1. they are so expensive and totally unnecessar, so if you like to spend extra money, sure this is a great place. Also after the transfer I had An extremely amount of appointment, 4 lab test for hCG levels, 3 heartbeat checks. Again, way over the top with appointments, so it costs way more than expected for intended parents. either the parents or I was informed about the appointment expectations prior. There was also poor communication when asking question. I'm glad everything worked out the first round of cycle and the Dr is nice, but I wouldn't recommend this place unless you like to just spend extra time and money.

I wish I could give Dr. Kalan and Los Angeles Reproductive Center ten out of five stars. My wife and I were recommended to Dr. Kalan by another LGBTQIA couple. Even though we live in Long Beach we made the commute all the way to Encino for our fertility treatments because of Dr. Kalan's care. He took such a great time with us to explain all of our fertility options. Our road to our baby was windy, with four failed IUI's and one failed IVF transfer. Each time, we struggled Dr. Kalan lifted us up and provided us with clarity in our next steps. Unlike most fertility clinics, Dr. Kalan never pushed treatments on us that were not needed and he always personally co-constructed our treatment plan with us ensuring we were never talked into or recommended treatments we didn't need. Specifically as an LGBTQIA couple, Dr. Kalan was knowledgable about our specific needs as a queer couple starting a family and he truly was an ally for us in our family journey. I will forever be grateful for his kindness, exceptional expertise, and his overall positivity during what was a very difficult and uncertain journey for my wife and I. Because of Dr. Kalan and Los Angeles Reproductive Center, our wife and I will be welcoming our son into the world at the beginning of November.

I also cannot end this review without speaking on the exceptional and dedicated medical service that Gabby provides at the Los Angeles Reproductive Center. She truly is a phenomenal nurse. She was always available for us to ask questions, even after work hours, and she diligently supported us as we navigated the world of fertility medications and necessary treatments on our baby journey. Her instructions and answers to questions were extremely clear and supportive, which really helped me especially during periods of high anxiety.

My wife and I cannot thank Dr. Kalan and Gabby enough for the experience and medical care they provided us.

I understand he sees hundreds of people, but at least check your visit notes!nThe clinic notified me VIA EMAIL that I had an urgent change in retrieval plans/timing and dosage of medications. That is something that requires a phone call.nDr. Kalan and the IVF Coordinator Yang are horribly incompetent and I wish I never followed through with this hellish experience.nnOriginal review:nI am currently working with LARC through a third-party egg donation/freezing agency (Cofertility) and my experience so far has been pretty disappointing. I have been assigned to Dr. Winkler, but we have only met once for a few moments in the 6 month long process. Every time I have been scheduled to be seen by Dr. Winkler, Dr. Kalan had to see me instead because she was out that day. This happened 3 times.nI feel there is minimal transparency, any time I inquire about possible side effects to the injectable medications I am met with an attempt to change the subject or highlight something positive.nThe worst experience so far was the medication administration training from the IVF Coordinator. I explained to her that I am worried about possible hair loss from the medications (as my hormonal alopecia arises when I stop birth control) and instead of going anywhere near that topic, she exclaimed that many women experience improvement in their skin…I had to remind her that I was asking about hair. Similarly, she dismissed my nervousness about the side effects and talked about how small the needles are (I have visible tattoos and piercings, needles are not my concern). It seemed like she wasn’t hearing a word I was saying, or was just adamant about switching to a positive subject any time I expressed hesitancy or reluctance.nOther than how kind and gentle Dr. Kalan is,nI am absolutely never recommending this clinic to anyone..

This place is absolutely terrible. Waited an hour for my appointment, with the waiting room PACKED. To the point where people had to stand or share a seat. No communication about how long we'd have to wait.

After 50 min I finally asked, and turns out the dr was running behind with no update about when she or he would be done.

On top of that, they don't validate. I spent half a tank and $10 for parking just for nothing.

This clinic is the ultimate BEST place to go through your IVF journey.

I can't say enough great things about my doctor, Dr. Kalan.

He is the best in his area of expertise.

Ultra professional and the perfect amount of empathy, compassion, and brilliance when it comes to his craft.

Actually the whole Los Angeles Reproductive Center (LARC) staff is phenomenal, helpful, and great at what they do. They are always so helpful and nurturing to make you feel as comfortable as you can in your ultrasound visits, efficient in helping to lock in appointment times and days, to helping you order meds easily through the Alto app.

**Gabby my coordinator is the best at this and helps thoroughly explain how to do each injection always with a smile. Amanda at the front desk is also great who chats with you as you're waiting to go in for your appointments.

The whole staff but especially Dr. Kalan does their best to make sure your IVF journey goes as smoothly as possible from beginning to end. It's my 4th attempt and crossing fingers with the thanks of the wonderful team that this 4th times the charm! If nothing else, the experience was top notch from beginning to end! I love LARC!

Please please do not come here!!!!!!!Save yourself the grief! There are so many reasons why you should NOT come here. The biggest one is the staff- the customer service is non-existent. They do not get back to you at a reasonable time and the communication is horrible. There were so many instances in which if they just would have told us to do things on time there would be no issue. One example is my husband had to go give a sample and they set him up for an appointment. After he was done they told him he would have to return a different date because they needed the sample to be provided within certain hours....something no one told us! There were several other things similar to this that occurred in which you could clearly see the communication was horrible.
Also many times there was only one person who could answer questions and that person would just never get back to you. Literally take forever to do so! Because of this I decided not to move forward with this clinic. You truly feel like you are just a number and all they care about is your money. Ivf is so expensive and for them not to give you the level of customer service or even just have there stuff squared away is unacceptable.

To prove this even more is the fact that the only time someone can assist you immediately is when you need to give a payment. But if you need to ask finance something besides paying... good luck!

I only met with the doctors twice for ultrasounds. The initial consultation was via zoom only. Both doctors were nice, however when I told the dr I was taking a particular supplement she laughed and said I didn't need to take it. However two months later she told me to take that same supplement since I did need it after all since I have diminished ovarian reserve.

The only time they were responsive and super helpful was to set up the consultation and any payments. Once they have you as a patient good luck. I don't know how they have so many good reviews .

I was super hesitant to leave the clinic since I was already a patient and had given money but after I became a patient at a different clinic it became clear that the level of customer service at Los Angeles reproductive center is horrible and just unacceptable

Marc Kalan is the most amazing doctor on the planet. He's kind, empathetic, and can handle anyone's case.

My husband and I had 3 large hereditary gene issues we were investigating in our case. While we were not a typical case, Marc handled everything with care, respect, and amazing support.

He has been with us the entire way (and let me say, we have had many bumps in the road, pun not intended, and Dr. Kalan has never once hesitated in steering us towards our end goal: healthy embryos to work with).

I am proud to be a patient of Marc Kalan's and am even prouder to say that he helped us get to where we needed to go: starting our family.

Call him right now if you're considering IVF. I can't wait to send him as many referrals as I can.

Our experience with Dr. Kalan was nothing short of incredible. From our first meeting, there was something special about him that put us at ease. Pursuing IVF can be such a difficult journey, physically, emotionally, and financially, but Dr. Kalan's confidence in his expertise and his emotional intelligence became two unwavering pillars that kept us afloat in obtaining pregnancy success with our third transfer.

Every step of the way, Dr. Kalan brought an unprecedented level of warmth and attentiveness to his approach. We never felt rushed at our appointments as he always took the extra time to answer our questions and made himself available after office hours. He also brought a sense of humor that put us at ease and made us feel at home with him and his team.

On the subject of his team, they matched the bar Dr. Kalan set and were always on top of our needs throughout the journey. We specifically worked closely with Maggie who is amazing and detail-oriented, ensuring a smooth process. With Dr. Kalan and his team, it never felt like an appointment, it felt like we had a family of people who were right there by our side on the journey. We were sad to say goodbye on our "graduation" day, but will forever be thankful that Dr. Kalan helped our dream of becoming parents come true.

Dr. Kalan and his staff took really good care of us. We are forever grateful because they helped us have our precious baby.

Dr. Kalan is a true professional. He walks you through the process and makes himself available for any questions or concerns one may have.

We started our IVF process at the start of 2020 and little did we know that we'd be trying to have a baby through a pandemic. Luckily, him and his staff were careful during the process.

Now we are parents to a 10 month old! Needless to say we couldn't be happier.
