Absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The Laurel Fertility team from Dr. Smikle to each nurse and front desk we worked with along the way, was incredibly attentive, patient, and supportive every step of the way. They took the time to explain everything clearly, answer all our questions, and always made us feel heard and cared for. What stood out most was their blend of precise science with genuine personalization--they truly tailored the process to our needs, and it never felt like a one-size-fits-all approach. We felt in expert hands the entire journey. Grateful beyond words!

I feel obligated to write a review because I had such a negative experience with Laurel. I stored eggs here in 2019, and last year I was charged $5,500 for one year of storage!!! I reached out and they said that was "normal" and that their cost of storage goes up after 5 years to $5500. For context, I store eggs at another fertility clinic (where I personally had far greater success than Laurel) and my cost is 12% of that (~$650) and the cost went DOWN over time versus up. This billing practice is predatory. They don't proactively tell you about the price increase nor guide you on how to move out your eggs to long-term storage or elsewhere until you get hit with this insanely off-market storage cost. Given these predatory business practices, I would never recommend Laurel and want to active warn folks to find another clinic.

STAY AWAY from speaking with Marisela or whatever her name is. She is the WORST! she gave me the biggest lecture of blowing up the phone lines and accused me of calling SEVEN times when I only called twice. The only reason for the second call was because i was hung up on the first time. She would not let me explain myself and when i said "this is crazy", she flipped out and said she was going to transfer me to the office manager. Then the office manager comes on the line to also be rude and said that i was cursing! Truly UNBELIEVABLE! All i wanted was to schedule an appointment. And instead of the office manager being PROFESSIONAL, she just took Marisela's side. Hope the two of them get some better training and learn how to TALK TO PEOPLE!.

Words cannot express how greatful me and my wife are to laurel fertility The San Francisco and Modesto team are the greatest! dr sminkle and leslie are The absolute best! They never gave up on us and they were always there if we had any questions, they made all the procedures and ultrasounds very comfortable. their staff was absolutely amazing especially in the Modesto office every single nurse in there gave there absolute best to us and it was awesome. Thank god for laurel fertility we now get too meet our IVF baby in 2025.

My fiancee and I used Laurel Fertility in January '23 to do lab work. The in-person staff was great, but everything else was a bit of a nightmare. We were only supposed to have one visit, but due to not running all the tests that we paid for after taking all the samples needed, we had to come back in and give blood again to fulfill those tests. Then because we came in twice, we were charged twice.nnIt took 2-3 months and 10 phone calls with insurance, Labcorp, and Laurel Fertility to clear up. We then found out in Nov '23, that I had a bill that was never mentioned to me after my insurance decided to not cover my tests, which amounted to $245. I haven't seen a breakdown of the bill, never knew it existed, and wasn't able to view it without calling and leaving them a message to receive the bill. On top of it all, all payments have to be done over the phone because the online payment system doesn't work.nnOverall, I don't think we would go back, but I can't stress how wonderful the staff in person was. The doctors, the people that did the blood samples, etc. We wish it were easier to work with this business when it comes to everything outside the office..

While the doctor and nursing staff were friendly, professional, and helpful, everything else about this clinic is a mess. They forgot to order the correct blood tests on my first sample, so I had to come in again and give another sample. This is unprofessional and I would not trust them with eggs or other samples that are very difficult to obtain.nnI can't even begin to describe the chaos that working with their billing/customer team is. I had to get on the phone with LabCorp multiple times to undo the double charges and they inputted our names incorrectly on one of our labs, which meant we couldn't access it.nnWe visited in January 2023 and I just received another bill from them in February 2024. No explanation of charges. We have not received any other services in the past 12 months.nnIf you value your time and working with an organized clinic, I unfortunately cannot recommend Laurel Fertility..

We've been patients of Laurel since 2019, and it's insane for me to even think of how long we've been there. We were "this is taking a long time to get pregnant but maybe we're just not trying hard enough" in DENIAL folks who "let's just freeze our embryos just in case" turned into a many year journey of infertility treatments to grow our family.

We are so blessed and so grateful to Dr. Smikle and our main nurse Kat for all these years of support.

We weren't an easy case at all, from my being a traumatized needlephobe hard stick that needs plenty of time to hyperventilate and get distracted from the medical assistants and nursing staff, all the way to Dr. Smikle personally getting my blood... on multiple occasions...

To coordinating an out-of-state start-up for reproductive immunology opened (Pregmune by Dr. Andrea Vidali) for my assessment and their interpretation..

To answering all my anxious research throughout the years of all the extra "add ons" that may or may not actually help...

To the extended monitoring to 8 weeks because we had a subcorionic hematoma...

We are eternally grateful.

Our son just turned one year old and we are just flooded with memories of our journey that got us here with the help of Laurel Fertility.

The clinic and staff was always rooting for me. They are like a cheer squad and it is lovely. They all work very well together and are a solid team. Because of Dr. Smikle, I am on my way to finally becoming a mother! Through egg retrieval surgery, endometriosis surgery, 3 PRP injections and two transfers, Dr. Smikle was by my side through it ALL. I am forever grateful for his support and encouragement along the way. Leslie Barahona (NP) had such a gentle way of breaking bad news to me that made me feel cared for in such times of need. Celeste - the nurse who took my blood and checked me in became my fertility "bestie." I am the hardest person to draw blood from, but she figured me out and even when it was difficult she did so in a way that was so caring. Additionally, she went above and beyond to get to know me which made this yearlong IVF journey as pleasant as it could be. I highly recommend Dr. Smikle and his team at Laurel Fertility!

Laurel Fertility took my wife and I by the hand and led us through what at first looked like a daunting process. They guided us through every step of the way. They allowed us to ask many questions and assured us through every detail. From day 1 we knew we were at the right place. They provided guidance from genetic testing, what to expect, and their communication was top notch. In May we expect our baby and we know this was possible because of Laurel Fertility .We are forever thankful for everyone from Dr. Smikle, Leslie, the front/back ladies, and the embryologists who also took calls/messages from us-THANK YOU is not enough. We highly recommend Laurel Fertility and will be sure all our friends and family know how and why we get to be parents.
