I cannot recommend Dr. Shapiro and her team at UCSF CRH enough. They were extremely communicative, thorough, kind and always available for questions and concerns. They were very accommodating to my work schedule which made the process go smoothly. I would recommend UCSF CRH for anyone interested. The support from the team was exceptional!

I cannot recommend Dr. Rosen and his team at UCSF CRH highly enough. From the very beginning, Dr. Rosen took on my case with compassion, confidence, and an unwavering commitment to helping me grow my family—even when things were medically complex. Dr. Rosen is kind of a mad genius type and when you have a difficult case, you want a mad genius on your side. I could tell he was personally invested in finding a solution. He never gave up, was constantly thinking outside the box, adjusting protocols, and staying one step ahead. The entire clinic staff reflects the same level of excellence. I have never had to wait long for any visit; this is in contrast with other clinics I have been with where a standard appt can take hours of my day. There is no better team than UCSF CRH!!!!

Great appreciated the care provided by Dr. Rosen. It matters a great deal to me that my doctors are well-credentialed, experienced, knowledgeable, and can explain complex concepts in plain English. Dr. Rosen met all of these criteria.nnThe journey that patients go on with CRH is often expensive and stressful. The outcomes can be life affirming or devastating. You’d want someone to give you the best advice with the data available to make the best decisions. I relied heavily on Dr. Rosen and went to him with numerous questions, and I would say the result was a success.nnHe's not what one would necessarily describe as warm and fuzzy, but frankly, I didn't care about that. I had regular OB/GYN providers outside of SF who couldn't have been warmer and fuzzier, but on multiple occasions, they were incompetent and caused me immense mental aggravation and unnecessary expenses. When one of them appeared to have failed at a routine procedure, Dr. Rosen even offered to step in to help.nnAs for CRH itself, the staff are professional and pleasant (Cathy was especially helpful), and the facilities are first rate. I would note though that it requires a fair amount of self-initiative to "get going." For instance, I was given a checklist after my initial consultation with Dr. Rosen, and some of the items, including those that involved services outside of CRH, were very time consuming. No one checked on me to see how much progress I was making. I misread one of the checklist requirements and the coordinator did not correct me at first. That misunderstanding ended up delaying my timeline significantly.nnAdvice to other patients, it might be helpful to schedule a regular call with the clinic if you’re serious about getting going on something that has a long lead time. That way, you can make sure you’re staying on track.nnIn any case, I would recommend working with Dr. Rosen and his team..

After three unsuccessful rounds of IVF elsewhere — including a trip to the ER — a friend referred me to Dr. Evelyn Mok-Lin, and I’m so grateful they did. In just one cycle, Dr. Mok-Lin was able to retrieve two healthy, viable embryos. Her expertise, precision, and care truly made all the difference.nnFrom start to finish, the experience with her team was exceptional. Communication was always prompt and thorough, and their system walks you through every step of the process with clear, informative videos that help you feel prepared and supported. The staff is incredibly attentive, responsive, and genuinely caring — I felt like I was in the best hands throughout the entire journey.nnI couldn’t recommend Dr. Mok-Lin and her team more highly for IVF treatment. DO NOT DONATE EGGS HERE. I donated eggs here in back in 2021 -- I was hospitalized due to OHSS due to the over-medication they gave me for my trigger shot. While they did pay for my hospital stay and ambulance, I feel the extreme pain and discomfort could have been avoided via proper prescription amount. I have since donated at other agencies and all the doctors were surprised at how much the doctors at UCSF prescribed me. There are better places out there

Too bad I did not respond quickly enough when there were lawyers contacts from another patient last time I checked. All complains about their billing system is true. And they are very good at making patients to sign a consent for bills before they start doing anything. It seems poor taste to be so profit driven as a UCSF affiliate.
Services are pretty routine and fine, they just treated me like a thing on their product line. Nurses and NPs are mostly caring, but every time when you got some questions they's say the doctors will give you an answer. Different doctors reviewed my blood work and ultrasound images each time, and they don't mind to leave a detailed records of how many eggs found in which ovary. And don't expect them to tell you more details on egg retrieval day except just the number of eggs they took out of your body. Oh, also they'd charge you for regroup appointment because in their mind you don't deserve a review and an explanation of what happened and what to expect. And if you ask, they refer you to see a psychologist: )
Oh, also every time you find mistakes and ask why, they would change that mistake but charge you even more because they say they find mistakes in patient discounts as well.

I'd say this place is the best in billing people and most professional in manipulating charging patients.

I wish that patient with lawyers emails to contact did not delete her review.

The doctors are great. The administration is so f*cked up, it's beyond ridiculous. If you want to spend hours a day on the phone with 45 different people in order to pay them fees for things that every other clinic does for free, then by all means go to UCSF CRH. If you want a level of bureaucracy that you genuinely did not know could exist, then UCSF CRH is your jam. Otherwise, go literally ANYWHERE ELSE. I don't know how I'll ever get pregnant with all of the added layers of frustration and stupidity required to work with CRH. I never thought I'd say this about anyone, but they desperately need some management consultants to come in and try to fix an extremely broken system that makes a mockery of patient support.

I can't speak to the quality of Dr Jaswa's care, as the UCSF Reproductive Health scheduling and billing are so inept that I won't be able to have an appointment at all. After scheduling the soonest available appointment months out, completing all their forms (maybe 25pages?), and going through all their recommended fertility testing, they notified me the day before my appointment that they've spoken to my insurance and won't be billing them. I'm covered for fertility preservation services, as I'm getting a hysterectomy for medically necessary reasons, but their billing department can't differentiate the code for that from other infertility treatments. Since it's now the day before my appointment, even with spending the entire day on the phone with my insurance and UCSF, there's no way to get it sorted out prior to my appointment tomorrow morning. So I can either pay thousands of dollars out of pocket for services that should be covered, or schedule another appointment ~3 months out and see if they've sorted it out by then. I strongly suggest that patients go elsewhere for treatment.

I was so upset by my experience at UCSF that it has taken almost a year to write this review. But today, as I receive an erroneous bill for over $10k for IVF services that I paid for in full over 10 months ago, I have to write this review and warn folks not to use UCSF. The coordination problems at the clinic - not just in terms of billing but also coordination around cycles that jeopardize outcomes - are so serious that I think they need to do a complete overhaul. I say this as I hold my baby that came about bc of services received at UCSF. I had great nurses and doctors, but they are working in a broken system and quite frankly, with the exorbitant cost of IVF, it is worth exploring another clinic, like Spring, where you will face a less stressful experience.

I did an IVF cycle with a donor and the communication and coordination were so poor that I almost had a failed cycle. After choosing the donor - it took six weeks for UCSF to even contact her to schedule an appointment for screening. It took a month to get her in and then a full month to communicate the results. There were some problematic findings, and four months after choosing my donor, I almost had to start over from scratch. This should never happen. It should never take 4 months just to complete screening (which is an ultrasound and blood test). Then when I finally moved forward with a cycle, UCSF failed to get the results of a necessary test and didn't catch the mistake until stimulation and cycle syncing had already begun and I was told that instead of doing a fresh cycle, I would need to do a freeze cycle (freeze cycles have much lower success rates than fresh at UCSF). This came about because of poor follow-up on my case and poor communication between my coordinator and doctor, with my doctor unaware that the test was missed until I called to inform them. In the end, we were able to save the fresh cycle but we got a very low number of embryos for a donor round and almost missed the implantation window. This could be unrelated to the missed test but the stress of the mistake was enormous regardless.

Now, many, many months later, I am dealing with the constant stream of bills for services that I paid for months ago. UCSF has continued to send me bills since I completed IVF with them, even though you must pre-pay EVERYTHING before embryo transfer. Initially, the bills were for a few hundred dollars but the most recent one was over $10k. Each time they try to collect the payment and threaten to send me to collection, even though these are erroneous charges. And even though the errors are very obvious, it takes multiple phone calls and weeks (sometimes months) for UCSF to even recognize the error and stop sending bills and warning notices.

I have done IVF rounds at three different clinics and fertility treatments inherently carry a degree of stress. Yet, UCSF was by far my worst experience, and I still feel triggered when I get a communication from them or think back to my cycle there. Infertility is hard enough on its own, go with a clinic that has the coordination and support in place to alleviate the stress, not add to it.

The doctors and nurse practitioners are great but the in cycle nurses, nurse coordinators and people you communicate with in their portal are really terrible. It's not user friendly and they are not helpful or clear at all. Once they told me to take the wrong medication in the portal. You have to ask over and over again to get answers. Lots of mistakes with them and really poor communication. Not friendly or helpful at all. I'm really disappointed.

I'm actually rating this place 2 stars only because I have experienced worse. Let me start by saying I did not go through any fertility treatments here, so that I can be fair. I only had baseline ultrasound appointment and saline ultrasound that was performed by another doctor for some reason and to this day i still didn't hear about the results.

Pros:
-Really nice and friendly staff, super helpfull
-Gentle and kind doctors
-Beautifully designed clinic
-Relatively cheaper than most clinics and offers being part of their studies which makes IVF even cheaper.
-I know someone who got pregnant with this clinic twice via IVF (2xFET)

Cons:
-They do not publish results on your patient portal
-They do not share results with you no matter how many times you email them
-Doctor does NOT follow up with results ever
-They send more and more bills 6-7 months after the procedure and still don't reveal the results of the procedure.
-Your new doctor from another clinic reaches out to them, for them to release your records and they completely ignore.
-They do NOT investigate your infertility properly and suggest a treatment without getting to know your body/levels
-And most importantly they give you a fix recipe that they give to everybody else. 3 IUI's and 1IVF. it's classic...

I went to see 2 clinics before I found my current doctor, and both told me 3XIUI's and then IVF. I told them I don't have the time and money to waste on IUI, and told them "I can get pregnant, but I can not stay pregnant so I'd like to go straight into IVF with genetic testing" but they insisted on IUI before knowing anything about my husbands sperm DNA fragmentation. If I listened to them, we'd be wasting a lot of money and time and effort.

Luckily after reading the negative comments about this clinic I found the best doctor money can afford, Dr. Aimee. I'm not pregnant yet, we're in the middle of IVF treatment, but I still recommend her to anyone who want's to find a doctor who'd find a personalized treatment for them and who'd investigate the reasons of their infertility.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Due to their complete lack of attention and care, I had an extremely traumatizing experience with our genetic testing, and the doctor nearly burned me during the transvaginal ultrasound because their machine was WAY too hot (the doc apologized but it was too late. Why wasn't she paying attention!?).

On top of all that, my "coordinator" -- the only person they let you actually ever contact, and only via a message on their portal -- was incredibly rude, unhelpful, and always frenzied - as if everything was some huge ordeal that couldn't get resolved. My coordinator was actually annoyed at me that I asked her a few questions about my upcoming process.

I learned quickly this place is a NIGHTMARE and I found a much better clinic with quality care, and a good doctor and team that's actually there for you and paying attention.

Bottom line: they treat you like cattle at UCSF. They aren't paying attention and don't care.

AVOID THIS PLACE!!!!!!!!
