My wife and I have been trying to have a baby for several months so we decided to get some fertility testing just to make sure there aren't any problems because we are older. I called several clinics to schedule an appt for a semen analysis but they were all booked up for a couple months except for The Reproductive Medicine Group in Wesley Chapel that was only a 1.5 week wait. I scheduled the appt but they are only open during regular weekday hours so I had to take a vacation day in order to have an appt with them. She asked me if I have a referral and who the practitioner is. When I told her it was me and I'm a practitioner referring myself she said that was fine before getting my NPI and license number.
I had to abstain for 4 days that unfortunately coincided with my wife's ovulation window. I took off from work, which isn't easy, and drove 45 minutes to my appt. I checked in and gave them my referral. Then she asked for the $140 fee and I paid it. I waited in the lobby for 15 minutes and then the receptionist came back and said they can't accept the referral because it was from me. I told her that when I made the appt I let her know it was a self referral and that I was told it was fine. She said that was wrong of her to tell me that. I asked her why is it not acceptable and she coldly said, it just isn't. She gave me no explanation and was very rude and heartless. I wasted this month's cycle window, a vacation day, and an hour and a half drive for absolutely nothing. Just to have a cold, heartless, response that yeah...we can't help you, sorry. I have written many referrals for patients for fertility testing in the past and they are generic and not for a particular clinic or practice, but I will now make sure to tell every patient I refer that if they're thinking about going to The Reproductive Medicine Group, do themselves a big favor and choose another practice.

This is an incredibly vulnerable and emotional journey, and we had hoped for compassionate, attentive support from your team. Unfortunately, our experience has been the opposite.\nAfter a failed first attempt, which was devastating in itself, we hoped that the second round would be met with improved communication, empathy, and professional support. However, the issues have continued—and in some cases worsened. My daughter has faced:\n• Delayed or non-existent responses to urgent questions\n• Cold, dismissive communication during appointments\n• A general lack of empathy at a time when emotional support is critical\n• No clear guidance or transparency around next steps\nThis has only added to her emotional strain. My husband and I had such a fantastic experience here. Dr. Tarantino was transparent about the whole process and answered any questions we had. When it came to procedures he would talk you through the whole thing, everything you might be feeling and may experience which really put my mind at ease. The nurses were AMAZING! So sweet and gentle. I have nothing but great things to say about my experience with them. You never waited long and contacting them was really easy since they have an app and you can message the nurses.\nOur baby boy is due in October and we can't wait to meet him.\nWe can’t recommend this place enough

The doctor was good but they are just an in and out experience. I felt like most of the appointments could have been eliminated for a more affordable experience. my appointments seemed so quick and I was just a number attached to a dollar sign. But the thing that is the worst is their billing department. They knowingly had my insurance and when I would go in for an appointment they would say my patient responsibility is $X, however they were billing me as self pay and not even informing me it was self pay. The they tried to charge me copays for doing a blood draw. I ran into someone who used them and didn’t have insurance and they were in the medical industry and they noticed that the same procedure was charged at different amount for self pay. Trying to get them to correct their billing is a headache. I recommend using another company that has integrity and a reliable billing department, you will get ripped off here!

If you care about your mental health, go somewhere else!
Their billing department is horrendeous. They made several mistakes in billing and it took 9 months to finally get an itemized update of what we were being charged for. The office manager said we wasted her time after finding out they sent us to collections for a bill we never understood and never received any clarification on, even after many calls (never receiving a call back).
They also erroneously billed us for annual embryo cryopreservation one year after unsuccessful treatments. They asked us to sign NEW documents, over a year after treatment, to show we weren't preseving our unviable embryos. I had to provide them their own documents to show we already signed them and it took months of phone calls to stop those bills. It was devastating.
The doctor was decent, however the office staff are incompetent and lack empathy. I wish I stumbled on these reviews before choosing RMG. What a waste of time and money.
For reference, we had treatment in 2023 and it has taken almost 2 years of them telling us they would get back to us to eventually learn we were sent to collections, even though they said we wouldn't be once they figured it out.

If you think the IVF process is stressful you are mistaken. For RMG it is the billing department that is the most stressful. We all know how bad it is but I can assure you it's even worse. This place is pretty much organized to steal your money but other than that it's a mess.
So this is how it works there. In the beginning they will ask for a large deposit. And many are desperate enough to agree with that. After paying this deposit you don't have any access to this account. Every time you have to beg the billing department for an itemized ledger which no one understands, even the billing department itself. Also RMG has a lot of unusual and interesting fees which are not going to be covered by any insurance (for example Cycle Coordination Fee = $750; who is doing this coordination is still a mystery, but everyone pays for it).
Despite your best insurance coverage they will still charge you directly from the deposit. They submitted prior authorization to my insurance with one code, and they charged me for this procedure with another code. When I called my insurance, they said it was incorrect and asked RMG to contact them. Billing department refused to talk to my insurance and correct their mistake. Of course, why would they care if it's easier just to charge me. But that's even worse, because on top of IVF stress you have to spend a lot of time being a middle man between your insurance and RMG and also learn medical procedure codes for billing..
Despite the fact that RMG is in a network and based on that it should only make charges by the agreement with insurance, they still charge you whatever they want.
They overcharged me 10K on top of my insurance. I finally moved to another clinic and the same procedures were fully covered there. It took 1 week for another clinic to bill everything correctly.
For RMG it took 5 months, and the balance is still incorrect. When I asked them when I could get the refund, they said it would take 8 weeks. I don't have a hope for that anymore, since they will just make another fake charge.
My advice to you: avoid this place, just go to any other fertility clinic. All negative reviews here are true. I don't even understand how this business (I can't call it a clinic unfortunately) still exists when they do all this stuff to desperate women. To not try to fix billing mistakes, or even clarify them, is ridiculous and a clear abuse of power.

billing is horrible!!! I've been waiting 2 months for reimbursement. I ended self paying two cycles because they said that I wasn't covered. did some digging and I was Fully covered for Two cycles minus my deductible- they keep saying they are trying to figure it out and resend the claims but haven't. I've been my own patient liaison between insurance and the clinic! it's getting old and I'm paying more in interest because I'm waiting for reimbursement. have your medical insurance print out before you go!

I truly had high hopes on receiving professional care after the reviews, but it's been a micromanage process this whole time. They email me a link for mychart portal to gain access of progress, however the portal has only contact information on there and nothing about my lab results or anything & that they can't send any information directly to me. I've called and was told they would find out about getting my results faxed to my USF urology doctor that was allegedly already done over a week ago and yet my doctors office has yet to receive anything as they have been leaving voicemails trying to contact anyone about obtaining my results. I don't understand the simple task of sending information to proper destination without drastic issues. I called back to be told they are on lunch until 1pm and call back then to speak to someone.. So frustration continues without a conclusion...

They are not professional or compassionate or have any moral obligation to provide any patient care at this place. Yelp really needs to add zero stars for places like these. All the reviews about billing department are 100% true. They don't know basic accounting and keep sending you multiple bills and collect payments months in advance. They never return calls or explain any charges as they are so disorganized and avoid any sort of accountability. Everything turns into a confrontation with them and they do not make any effort to fix the problem. Instead they to the extra mile to accuse the patients. This happened not only to me but other patients while I'm waiting for consults in their office. They don't care to cross verify anything including medical records. I haven't seen a penny of my money back from this place. The billing manager Jasmin is the rudest person you will encounter. I thought maybe this is just a standalone department issue within RMG but boy I was wrong. The doctors are part of this nightmare as much as the other staff. Your journey will be delayed by months due to this incompetent place. They all like to make free money from you and not even do the bare minimum. There is no education about the process and you are just a sheep. Medical coordinators are a joke, you will be coordinating everything on your own. It's like pulling teeth to get any information from anyone. They do not care about your timeliness and delay you by months for simple stuff in an industry where everything is highly time sensitive. THEY NEVER ANSWER PHONES. The emotional trauma and damage done by this place is extremely heartbreaking and there is no $ value you can assign to it. Our doctor was Goodman and I don't think she honestly cared about providing a good treatment. We had no results with her and wasted more than a year with her. This place is what I call modern day robbery and I'm beyond appalled on how this place is running and robbing not only people's money but also hopes and dreams. I'm at a point where I want to sit outside this place and provide pamphlets to people to read yelp reviews before they enroll at this clinic as a public service.
I wish I read the yelp reviews over Google before I went to this place. People who run this and most of the staff should not be servicing anyone in medical industry based on my experience.

Around 8/03/21 I called to see if they take my insurance, the lady said yes. I needed an appointment for my 18 year old daughter. I gave the lady all the information on the front and back of my insurance card. She said no problem they definitely take my insurance. Last week I received a call that we had not filled out all the paperwork on the patient portal, no mention of cost or about not accepting my insurance. And our information was filled out. y my daughter received an email stating that the appointment was canceled due to online paperwork not being completed. I called yesterday and said that the paperwork was completed and she apologized and said that the appointment was still on, no mention of cost or not accepting my insurance. af that my daughter received an email that the appointment was a zoom call not in person. Today my daughter talked to a nurse, no mention of cost or not accepting my insurance, then started talking to the doctor and 5 minutes into that call the office calls my daughter demanding $295.00 before her visit because they do not take my insurance. My daughter said that her mother handles those thing. So after my daughter let me know I call the office then talked to Kelly the manager who insisted the charge is valid because my 18 year old daughter said that I would handle it and finished her zoom call with the doctor. What a total scam, teledoc calls through my insurance are under $100.

This amazing staff and Dr Tarantino is amazing every step of the way! I have 1 little ivf baby and starting the process for hopefully number 2. The nurses are always so kind and charismatic and just very gentile. When talking to dr T he always takes the time to listen and address any concerns i may have! Always feel so safe with Dr T and his staff and i know i'm in great hands!

He kept me and my partner up in spirit. He was definitely there for us. He understood what we was going through and was monitoring every step of the way.
I can't believe I'm pregnant with my first child omg thanks so much Dr.T x I recommend anyone trying for IVF this is the right place and Dr. T is the one. This my first ivf and it's a success x I'm due Nov.

I had my eggs frozen 6 years ago with RMG, so now that I would like to use them for my IVF, I got a donor and was ready to go. They refused to even test my donor because he was 53. I was forced to move 15 miles to another company and the donor was tested and needed a number of 45 million sperm to qualify and he had 225 million. Next, the other company was going to provide me with the nitrogen tank, so I could have them load my eggs and I could drive them 15 miles to the other company to unload them. RMG would not release my eggs and instead insisted on me paying $1000 to transport them 15 miles. RMG is strictly interested in their positive ratings, not what their client wants.
