Review of Vios Fertility Institute West Loop Clinic from Summer Bailey
I just finished my first egg retrieval yesterday so this is a review for this location based on my experiences. Overall, Kindbody is a very busy organization that gives families the opportunities to start their families. The whole process for me was pretty seamless but I will note a few things:\n1) The communication is subpar. Your file gets passed around to different RNs, organizers, etc who don't know your treatment plan so you have to constantly orient them to what meds you are taking, what treatment you are receiving, etc. Also they close down messages within 5 minutes of sending one to you so if you have a question or concern you have to send another message through a different place. The on call hotline is delayed and yet again not consistent. There were several times I was told to take medications I didn't have at the time, which showed there was no consistency in the communication regarding my plan and led to me having to run around a lot to pick up medications and spend extra money.\n2) I only saw my specific doctor a couple of times virtually before starting the process and then once in person before my retrieval. I chose her because of good reviews from other people and was hoping to have more communication with her, which was not the case. She was great at explaining the process when I spoke with her but then I felt like I was always talking to someone else from the "Care team" which like I said before I wasn't sure if they even knew me. There are other physicians there though that I hear patients have more personalized experiences with or they were able to retrieve more eggs during their cycle and since this process is costly, it's important to get the most you can out of it.\n3) Scheduling the labs and ultrasounds once starting the treatment is pretty easy, and everything can be checked in the portal. I usually had everything booked before leaving which was important because the appointment slots were filling up pretty quickly. If you live closer to a kind body site, you can get testing done there but I believe the procedures occur at certain sites.\n4) The actual retrieval process felt super rushed. I wasn't feeling great at all before/after my procedure and I felt like a cattle being pushed on a conveyor belt by everyone there to leave after my procedure was done. There was not much communication regarding how the procedure went or my future plans of care, so I ended up just leaving after I was deposited in the waiting room. Probably the most disappointing part of the process in combination with little communication in general from everyone involved in my treatment plan.\n5) Overall, I would consider going back to this place again but if I am able to find a place who makes me feel more like a person and less like a number, I may decide to go there. I'm hoping that I am able to have a successful outcome from this place because it's a very expensive and time consuming process..

I have not posted a negative review before, but given that Kindbody has owed me just under $1,000 (by their own calculations) for over a year now and has yet to send me the check they've been promising me for over four months despite multiple follow-ups, I feel I have no choice. This is on top of a couple other awful experiences I had. Please note, I did absolutely love my doctor, but she is no longer there. It seems the place has continuously gone downhill and the lack of consideration for the patients amidst the bureaucratic and administration struggles is very disappointing. I hope no one else has to experience this.

I have not posted a negative review before, but given that Kindbody has owed me just under $1,000 (by their own calculations) for over a year now and has yet to send me the check they've been promising me for over four months despite multiple follow-ups, I feel I have no choice. This is on top of a couple other awful experiences I had. Please note, I did absolutely love my doctor, but she is no longer there. It seems the place has continuously gone downhill and the lack of consideration for the patients amidst the bureaucratic and administration struggles is very disappointing. I hope no one else has to experience this.

I had a really disappointing experience with Kindbody Fertility Clinic. My initial consult with Dr. J was awkward, as there were too many people on the call. From the start, I felt rushed into treatments without proper explanation or care for my specific situation. After 3 rounds of IUI and a year of trying naturally, Dr. J quickly pushed me toward IVF without exploring other options or considering why treatments weren’t working even though I am only 30.\n\nThe nurses were kind, but the rest of the experience felt impersonal and disorganized. I was pressured into doing a "duo stim" cycle, which didn’t work, and then pushed to keep banking embryos. After several failed transfers, I miscarried at 12 weeks, only to later find out that the chronic endometritis I had wasn’t properly treated. My new clinic and several biopsy's and treatments later confirmed that the 7-day antibiotic course wasn’t enough.\n\nThe clinic's approach felt like a kitchen-sink strategy—expensive meds and add-ons with little evidence to support them. I rarely saw Dr. J again after the initial consultation, only nurse practitioners who I didn’t feel had a personal investment in my care. The scheduling became increasingly difficult as the clinic shifted to a third party call center, which only added more stress. On top of everything, I was overcharged nearly $4K and had to fight for months to get my refund. It wasn't until legal action was threatened that I could even get a response from the billing department. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Kindbody Fertility Clinic. The lack of personalized care and poor communication made a challenging journey even harder..

I don't recommend this place AT ALL. They are very disorganized. From billing to overall care. Want to ask your nurse a question?! Good luck getting a hold of anyone. The doctors do seem to be nice and knowledgeable however you rarely interact with them and doctor turnover is very high (prob due to their disorganization) I had one leave mid cycle with no notice until I called in. Anyways, I feel stuck bc we already started with them and more work to switch at this point but do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I did not plan to share about my extremely negative experience with Kindbody but I feel compelled to after the last few months in hopes that I can save someone else from going through what we did.
I sought treatment for fertility problems at Kindbody after failed attempts with IVF at another Chicago fertility clinic. At first, the staff and doctor were friendly and I thought I had found a good fit. We did not have success working with Kindbody and it turns out they did not correctly diagnose the condition that I have, which could have made all the difference with us being able to build our family. As you can expect from a fertility clinic like Kindbody, they are quick to get you into treatment rather than find the root of the problem. ($$$)
The reason I'm writing this review is primarily because of what happened in March of 2024, about a year after our unsuccessful fertility attempts. After an extremely difficult failed attempt at conceiving, we decided to take a break from the fertility clinics to consider our next steps. Our bills for Kindbody were paid in full since summer of 2023. In March we randomly received a bill from an embryo storage company saying that we owed money. The shocking part is that we had no good embryos in storage. After many MANY emails and calls to Kindbody, I finally figured out that they had stored an unusable embryo from our failed attempt a year ago. Never did it cross these 'medical professionals' minds to ask us if we wanted to destroy an embryo that could never be used. It was completely obvious that Kindbody cares about one thing...money.
The experience that I had dealing with many employees at Kindbody through this ridiculous situation was unbelievably upsetting. They were unapologetic, rude, and were obviously withholding information from me. I still to this day have not received an invoice that I asked for AT LEAST ten times. The disregard for my feelings around getting a bill for an embryo that I did not know existed was appalling. I spent countless hours emailing people trying to get answers and sitting on the phone when I should never have been dealing with this in the first place.
A fertility clinic like Kindbody does not see their patients as people. People who are going through one of the most difficult things in the world, which is the uncertainty of infertility. I highly recommend that someone in need of fertility help visits their doctor and works with an actual hospital system. I do not wish my experience with this fertility factory on anyone.

This place is a scam. We were told because my wife wasent a patient here, they refuse to submit a claim on our behalf and we would have to do it. Whe. We refused they said then we can't come, or we can find another facility and the lady made a comment on how they were the only one in a decent radius to our home that was in network. So take it or leave it. Because he was only getting a sperm analysis. Was almost impossible to get the health insurance claim form. Finally got it and found out they over charged us the contracted rate. They charged us 175. But their contract with our insurance shouldn't have been more the. 20 something dollars. They have no billing department. Never answers the phone. We have been there 2x in the last month to get our refund. Come to find out after speaking to our insurance that's illegal for them to make us file our own claims when they are in network and over charge us. Thankful for our insurance who is now taking the proper protocols due to their violations. Do not go here!!

This was the worst experience. The best parts about it are the nice ultrasound techs and the people who do your bloodwork. Other than that, the billing department is completely disorganized and there are several mistakes on my bill. The biller was constantly talking to me about reaching my out of pocket maximum. While I was undergoing treatment with them, I of course, also had other appointments with an ENT (unrelated) and those bills also contributed to my out of pocket. Kindbody just wanted to take all of my out of pocket expenses for my insurance and kept bringing it up with every email. If the only thing you care about is an office with a "cool" instagram, check out Kindbody! You will never talk to the same nurse and you will barely get an appointment with your Dr. From December to February, I only saw my doctor TWICE. I had an initial appointment with her, but instead talked to a nurse because the Dr. couldn't make it. Quite frankly, there was a man who came in for my egg retrieval and given some other reviews, I don't even know if my doctor was the one who actually performed my retrieval or if this man that was following my doctor did it. Also, they gave me a bag of treats after my egg retrieval and in that bag I found a paper that I had signed - I have ZERO RECOLLECTION of signing anything as I was just out of the procedure and pretty sleepy. I have no memories and quickly told them that they really shouldn't have people sign paperwork five minutes after coming out of anesthesia. They take a "down payment" for your services with them and call it "unapplied money" - which I have never experienced in my life. I'm sad that I went here and sad that after spending a lot of money I have nothing to show for it except a lighter bank account. My trust is completely eroded.

I went here for fertility treatment and I do not recommend them. They are more concerned about making sure you pay your bill than helping you through a difficult process. My nurse would not return my calls. There were several missteps including scheduling me to start on IVF medications but not giving me all the information I needed to proceed to then have to delay treatment. They do not have a full understanding of a patient's needs nor do they fully help patients through the challenging process of fertility.

I do not recommend. They tried to charge me twice for the same appointment and it took months to figure out and get my money back. But the mistake seemed a little shady.. they charged my insurance and my partner's insurance for the same appointment. Then when we tried to fix it, they "didn't have the paperwork" to show that it was a mistake, and I had to dig through my own files to prove that we were not supposed to be charged twice for the same video visit we were both on. Also they mismanaged medical aspects of my case which delayed our pregnancy timeline. IVF is stressful enough, but I could not deal how disorganized the office was. Support staff and nurses were very kind, but administration was terrible. Vios (now Kindbody) feels like they take all patients regardless of capacity to treat them.

Coming back to revise this. I still love Dr Jeelani - she is fantastic. But this clinic is a mess. My insurance company reached out to me bc they revised some of my claims which they indicated should've resulted in an overpayment to my provider (Vios). This was like two months ago and I have yet to get information from billing to help me resolve this or understand what happened to my account. They send me information on individual claims with pmt amounts applied that don't agree to the actual payments I made - and nothing that shows comprehensive detail of each payment I made and what it applied to. I can clearly see that the amt I paid Vios exceeds my EOBs by $500 but I can't seem to get anyone to engage with me on why that is. It's so frustrating.

This has been the worst experience i've ever had. I don't even know where to start but I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. This is a very sensitive issue to begin with and the staff here makes it more traumatic than it needs to be. I'm sure the doctors are great but when you're dealing with staff 99% of the time...how much does it really matter. ive spent thousands of dollars in medications and no clue when i'm supposed to take them. Avoid this place at all costs.
