I had my IUD removed/replaced here and I could not have asked for a better experience. Before my appointment, the team was communicative and answered all of my questions. At the appointment, everyone was kind, answered all my questions, and I felt comfortable the entire time. I had been dreading this appointment for literal years and the Planned Parenthood Peoria team made it a breeze. They were trying a new pain management tactic with the IUD process and when I asked why, they said, "We wanted better for our patients." Absolutely incredible to hear. For my LGBTQIA+ pals, the staff and the language they used was so affirming and they took my concerns seriously. Planned Parenthood is more important now than ever and the staff at this one are all angels, so please make your appointment with them.

I'll start by saying my nurse was AMAZING (I had the woman with the upper lip piercing and arm tattoos.) I had a few questions about the testing so I asked her but she wasn't sure if the answers so she left the room to ask my questions. Then some white haired older lady came into my room, did not tell me who she was, told me that I was only there for labs and refused to answer my questions saying "you'll get a call when we get results" and then escorted me out. She also kept the door wide open while this conversation happened which included mentions of the testing we were doing which should have been a private conversation. Her attitude was awful and when I called to file a complaint I'm pretty positive I got connected with her on the phone bc she was very defensive, impatient, and seemed to not care about my complaint. So I figured I'd just write a public review instead. This lady should not be in healthcare at all.

FYI - This location almost burned down in January 2023, so any reviews posted after that date are either not specific to this location (because it's been closed until reopening in June 2024) or are political astroturfing.nnThis location is about the same as any other location: staff does their job and with compassion and relative speed (especially considering the burnout in medical professionals post-pandemic). I've been to half a dozen PP locations across the country and the Peoria location is same as any other. Corporate phone times are abysmal, but that speaks more to a lack of funding at the organizational level than whether the Peoria branch functions as a medical practice, which it does and quite well. Keep doing good work and fighting the good fight!

So I had called in for my daughters BC shot and the lady at the desk answered and asked who it was for and as I said it and she said she was going to put us on hold. And then she just hung up and switched the number to the answering machine lady

This Planned Parenthood is GREAT!!! I've only been to two other Planned Parenthood in illinois. That's in Decatur,il & Springfield,il. This is the GREATEST most nice place ever!!! their so respectful & kind.. Very cool people. i love going their.. i recommend anyone going here..
