Absolutely unacceptable experience.nnMy wife and I have been trying to start fertility treatment since November of last year, and the level of neglect, miscommunication, and outright disrespect I’ve faced from this system is disgraceful.nnI waited eight months for a urology consult that never happened. When we finally had a scheduled telemed appointment, my wife and I sat waiting — no call, no email, no follow-up. Our call logs prove this. We contacted Dr. Trussell’s office in Syracuse, only to be told they had no record of my appointment.nnA week later, CNY Fertility told us the doctor did try to call. Why lie? We have the proof. How does something like this even happen?nnI’ve been bounced around like a ping-pong ball, with zero accountability and no urgency. Meanwhile, my wife receives excellent care — but I’ve been treated like an afterthought. A second-class patient. As if my role in this process doesn’t matter.nnThis has been infuriating, exhausting, and deeply disappointing experience. If you’re a man seeking fertility care — prepare to be ignored. This has been one of the worst healthcare experiences of my life. We expected better. We deserved better..

BE CAREFUL! My wife and I looked for a lower priced fertility company to help us after we tried with another more expensive company in our state. CNY looks great at first look, but has a lot of fine print about getting money back and their package details. Specifically the drug regiment they give as part of their package is only for a cycle that is right on schedule, so if yours is a cycle that fluctuates, they’ll make you pay the difference out of pocket for additional days of meds needed until your cycle is ready for both the retrieval and the transfer. The cost is about 500 a day in medication, we were 5 days late in our cycle for retrieval so 2500 additional. Our transfer was 4 days late. Next was the gift card, they ran a promotion for 10 per ent off gift cards, but is apparently non refundable even if you request to cancel the transaction immediately after placing it. They don’t care and they’re only interested in nickel and diming, so I’ll say it again… BE CAREFUL!.

Did two cycles there. At cny you get treated by nurses who are so cagey and will not allow you to speak w a doctor. Im 42 I was forced to be put on provera and estrogen at the beginning of my cycle for scheduling purposes. The provera stunted my ovaries and once I started stim it was like beating a dead horse I had to take $2500 of extra medicine and I stimed for 14 days at the end I had 11 eggs only 4 of which were viable. When the dr found out on the day of my retrieval he screamed and kept asking the nurse who is putting these protocols? Who put this woman on this protocol. The NP and the nurses absolutely bullied me into it. I said I could wait till next month they’d say if we run into the same scheduling issues next month we’d put you on provera again. Basilly their attitude is take the shitty treatment or leave it. This month I have 17 eggs at my baseline without stim. That’s my average. The provera stunted the hell out of my ovaries. The recovery was long and painful I was bloated for 4 weeks after retreuvalnfrom the excessive amount of stim I took to get my ovaries to function after stunting them w the provera. Now I’m trying to transfer the embryo and runing in the same problem again! The nurses will not allow me to speak w the dr. They say next month I explain by then I’d be done. They don’t care. It is impossible to speak w a Dr not even once during your treatment cycle . It’s so wrong to be treated by nurses not by doctors. The nurses at cny especially the nurse practitioners are bullies and vile.

My wife and I began our IVF journey in early 2024 with hope and optimism. In March, I underwent a PESA procedure at CNY Fertility to retrieve sperm. I was told to expect some swelling, but after a full month of pain and swelling, I reached out to CNY for guidance. Unfortunately, the responses were vague and unhelpful, and I ultimately had to seek care from an outside urologist to manage the complications—something that should have been handled better by the clinic.nnOur first embryo transfer initially gave us hope—my wife became pregnant—but it sadly ended in early loss. When we asked for insight into what went wrong and how we could improve, we were met with inconsistency. CNY does not assign a dedicated doctor to your case, and it was always unclear who would be handling each part of the process. Different doctors suggested different approaches, and while some supplements were added, there was no clear treatment plan.nnOur second transfer failed completely. We were surprised to learn the embryos used were not high-quality and hadn’t been developed to day-5 blastocysts. We voiced our concerns, and a different doctor offered more supplements and medications—adding further cost—assuring us this would help.nnWhen my wife underwent her next egg retrieval, we were thrilled with the result: 21 eggs! But then, we were told my previously stored sperm (which I pay $50/month to store) was unusable. I had been paying for eight months—over $400—for sperm that couldn’t even be used. Despite my fear from the painful first PESA, I underwent the procedure again. Thankfully, the second time was smooth and pain-free.nnAt this point, we had hope for our third transfer. But when the lab thawed the eggs, many were lost, and only three fertilized. We transferred those three embryos—again, a failure. We were devastated. In a follow-up, yet another new doctor told us the main issue was poor egg and sperm quality. Hearing this after three failed transfers left us stunned. Why wasn’t this discussed or addressed earlier?nnI politely reached out through CNY’s messaging app to discuss my sperm quality and next steps. I received no reply. Days later, my wife was told by CNY that someone had tried to call me—but I had no missed calls. I followed up again, expressing my concern and pointing out that I’d received no contact. Still no reply. I eventually sent a frustrated message to the call center—also ignored.nnOur experience with CNY Fertility has felt impersonal and disorganized. It seems like the clinic is focused more on volume than quality care. The constant rotation of doctors, lack of follow-up, and contradictory guidance left us feeling lost and unsupported during a very emotional and sensitive time.nnIf you're seeking a personalized, consistent, and thoughtful IVF experience, I unfortunately cannot recommend CNY Fertility. Our journey with them has been emotionally and financially exhausting, and we wish we had chosen a clinic with more individualized care and accountability.

My experience with cny last summer was the worst experience of my life and I almost died.nnI am okay now. Posting this a year later. I was to traumatized last summer to articulate my thoughts. They pierced my bladder to get to one of my ovaries during my egg retrieval. This is not an uncommon thing to do. However I had a very very uncommon reaction. I'll leave out most if the gross details.nnBasically my bladder was full of blood and clots. It swelled up to over 4x it's normal size. And I was violently peeing blood all night. I was Having violent bladder contractions. My body was trying to expell the blood clots. I lost control of my bladder completely by the time i went in to see them the next morning. Once they put the catheter in it got even worse my body was trying to expell the catheter. I was literally shooting blood around the catheter and the nurse didn't believe me. She told me I was mistaken until it got so bad she heard the blood/urine hitting the floor. At this point she called the doctor back in.nnAnyways we got the issue resolved. They did an emergency procedure. flushed my bladder. You guys it was so bad. I literally almost died! My husband was shaking and crying. Practically holding me on the table while the doctor worked to clear my bladder. We were both severally traumatized.nnObviously my fresh transfer ws canceled. We are devastated. And only 1 of my eggs fertilized. I feel like we did all of this for nothing.nnI'm glad I tried. But if we move forward with ivf it will Obviously be anywhere but cny. The level of incompetence I have experienced with every step of my case has been appalling.nn1. They gave me the directions for the max dose of stims. Even though I ordered a mini bundle. So it ran out of stims half way through my cycle. They refused to fix it and tried to gaslight me into thinking it was all my fault .n2. They shorted me meds in my med bundle. Again convinced me I didn't know what I was talking about and that I had enough meds and I was mistaken. Again that was false.n3. They damn near killed me.n4. None of the departments talk to each other. So no one ever knows what going on. I called in one day spoke to 3 different nurses and each one gave me differing medical advice.n5. The stress and trauma of this even has ruined ivf for me and now due to medical trauma I told my husband I can no longer have a biological child. We will have to do doner eggs. Because I can never go through an egg retrieval again. As I lay on a bed screaming fighting for my life, my husband shaking and crying because he thought he was losing his wife. I told him then and there that I could never do this again. And he agreed.nnWe desperately want to make our own children but not at the cost of my life.nnWe were supposed to set up a zoom call with Dr.kiltz for following week once I was recovered to have him personally review my case because he needs to know what is going on in his practice. But this never happened. I was also told he would be looking into reimbursing me for the extra 2 grand out of pocket for the extra meds I had to order because they messed up my protocol. That never happened. The financial office never returned my calls nor did they answer their phones.nnSo that's my review of cny. My husband is still considering filing an official complaint with the new York medical state board.nnIf you want cheap ivf. Be prepared to get what you paid for.nnI understand this is the only affordable option. I'm not trying to sway anyone into not going with cny. It's literally the only option for so many people out there. I just wanted to warn people so they know what they are getting into. Be safe out there. Advocate for yourself. If I hadn't demanded they go back in and check my bladder they would have just let me leave with the catheter. My bladder would have exploded and I would be dead right now.nnAnd this did happen at Syracuse.

Prior to today, we have had nothing but positive experiences with CNY. The nurses and staff have been incredible. But today we had a follow up phone call with Dr Corley and I was hoping that he could provide some clarity and answers as to why our FET failed, but instead he was rude and said we just got extremely lucky our first transfer with our now 15 month old and we should count our blessings. He said that with 6 eggs we would be lucky to have one child, which we have and when I said we were hoping for 2-3 children, he laughed.nHe was also very impatient and kept saying "I only have 20 minutes for this call and that includes reviewing your chart so I don't have time to talk about XYZ".nHe also said genetic testing is a waste of money and it's an expensive screening test that is pointless and meaningless.nHe kept talking over me and saying he still had no reason for why my transfer failed other than the first round we got lucky and this time we didn't and we should count our blessings that we have one baby and we have about a 50% chance of having another baby with our 3 remaining embryos.nI also told him that one of the nurses told me the only vitamin/ supplement I need is a prenatal and I was talking several vitamins and supplements prior to my successful FET and he said "WHOEVER TOLD YOU THAT IS STUPID!! the vitamins are for your overall health and to support a healthy pregnancy!" and added several vitamins and supplements to my protocol also.nI just needed to vent and share our experience. I hope he never leaves anyone else feeling as hopeless and defeated as he has me. There were several times during our phone call I just wanted to hang up and cry and quit..

They have followed protocols that have made my prior clinic look not as educated in the field and greedy 🤦🏻♀️ I highly recommend CNY Fertility in Syracuse

I am so pleased that I chose this fertility clinic. They got back to me farely quickly, and I had all my test done. The office is beautiful, extremely clean, and very calming. I have anxiety, and I find this office is very calming. All the staff that we have met are extremely polite and nice. You are greeted with a smile and a small conversation. The receptionist is amazing. They have little fabric booties to put on in the winter. They have a Culligan water machine. And also tea. Bathrooms are clean as well as the rooms. And the 2 Dr's are so nice and understandingnI would give this place 10 stars if I could.nGood luck to anyone who decides to come here.

His expertise and reassuring approach truly set him apart. I cannot recommend this fertility clinic enough! Dr. Mahutte and his team were amazing throughout my entire journey. Dr. Mahutte was incredibly kind, patient, and always took the time to answer all of my questions without ever making me feel rushed. He made me feel safe and well-cared for at every step of the process, which was so important during such an emotional experience. I also want to give a special mention to Nurse Bonnie, who was absolutely fantastic—compassionate, supportive, and always there when I needed her. The whole team, including the other nurses, provided exceptional care, and I’m beyond grateful for everything they did!
Frequently Asked Questions
When was the clinic established?
CNY Fertility opened its doors in 1997.
Who are the key medical professionals and specialists at the clinic?
The clinic is led by Dr. Robert Kiltz (Founder & Director), and includes Dr. David Corley, Dr. Michael Grossman, Dr. Edward Ditkoff, Dr. Eric Chang, Dr. Maribelle Verdiales, Dr. Faez Faruqi, and a dedicated team of board-certified reproductive endocrinologists, embryologists, nurse practitioners, and specialists.
What unique advantages or special features does the clinic offer?
CNY Fertility offers accessible, affordable fertility care—charging approximately one-third the national average for most treatments—and accepts patients regardless of age, BMI, or hormone levels. The clinic also provides in-house financing with no credit checks, a refund program called the Fertile Guarantee™, and integrates “eastern” modalities such as acupuncture, massage, and yoga for fertility alongside advanced medical treatments.
What facilities and advanced technologies are available at the clinic?
The clinic provides advanced technologies including ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection), Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT/PGS, PGD, PGT-SR), Assisted Hatching, cryopreservation (egg, sperm, and embryo freezing), FemaSeed Intratubal Insemination, ZyMōt Sperm Processing, enhancement and immune protocols, and surgical offerings such as PESA/TESA/TESE, laparoscopy, and hysteroscopy. Monitoring can be performed in-house or remotely, and specialized protocols such as reciprocal IVF and natural/mini IVF are available.
Does the clinic provide specific support services (e.g., counseling, financial assistance)?
Yes. The clinic offers in-house payment plans to finance fertility treatments, works with many insurance plans to maximize coverage, and features a 75% refund program if patients do not have a baby after six cycles. It also provides free 30-minute emotional support consultations with a trained fertility support specialist, online and private community groups, and access to yoga and well-being programs for emotional and physical support.
Does the clinic offer services or support specifically for international patients?
Yes. Over 60% of patients travel from out of state or abroad. CNY Fertility coordinates with a patient's local OBGYN or radiology facility for monitoring, so international patients only need to visit a clinic location for 2–7 days per treatment cycle.
Does the clinic offer remote or virtual consultations?
Yes. The clinic offers remote management of treatment cycles, including consultations and ongoing care coordination for patients who cannot attend in person. Monitoring (such as ultrasounds and bloodwork) can be arranged locally or at home with third-party providers as part of remote cycle management.
Is the clinic accredited or affiliated with recognized institutions or organizations?
CNY Fertility's physicians have served as clinical faculty at top U.S. medical schools and have been featured in major media outlets including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, CNBC, and Newsweek.
