Today I came to Planned Parenthood for an IUD replacement. I was really nervous going into my appointment because I couldn’t get an exact price over the phone. As someone who’s been uninsured since aging out of my parents’ plan — and working as a waitress — medical costs are scary. I was preparing myself for a $2,000 bill… the front desk angel asked me how much I make a month. As she crunched the numbers, I braced for impact, and then that beautiful voice said it would only be $63.75!!!! I almost started sobbing from relief.nnThis was my third IUD, and while it’s always a painful and traumatizing experience, this was hands-down the best one yet. Every single woman I encountered — from the front desk to the doctor — was patient, warm, funny, and so incredibly kind. They held my hand, talked me through the pain, and cracked just the right amount of jokes to help me breathe through it. They gave me space to breathe and walked me through the entire procedure with as much ease as possible.nnAlso — it was pouring when I arrived, and I am more than grateful for their covered drop-off area. It’s a small thing, but on a day like today, it mattered.nnAnd one more thing that meant so much to me: while checking in, they asked for my preferred name and pronouns. I’m a cis woman, but I don’t go by my legal first name — and I’ve never felt comfortable correcting anyone in a medical setting because it feels unnecessary. But they just asked. Unprovoked. Like it was standard and normal. And hearing my preferred name called out loud made me feel instantly more comfortable and seen. That tiny gesture changed the entire tone of the visit for me.nnIf we remove the whole “metal device shoved into your body” part, it was honestly a beautiful experience. I’m endlessly grateful to have Planned Parenthood South Austin in my corner in such a scary world. Thank you for protecting women like me.

I went in for an IUD insertion. I was terrified, but all of the staff here made me feel very comfortable. I voiced my concerns to my provider and she assured me everything would be okay and even let me play music during my insertion. I would gladly come back to this clinic for future services ^_^.

The people are kind, the care is decent. The billing is some bullshit. 6+ phone calls over the course of 6 months because they coded a visit outside my insurance, on top of multiple other errors. A bill for over 500$ when I owed 40$ at most. Finally got a bill that's only mostly correct (still 25$ more than I actually owe, but I'm sick of calling them to dispute charges) in February, for a visit in October. Also they waited to send me ANY bill until 90 days had passed, for which they charge a fee. They also waited until the bills had compounded after I had been receiving regular care, rather than alerting me to the fact I owed fairly large amounts between visits..

Went today to get my nexplanon removed and the staff here was incredible!! They were so sweet and made me feel so comfortable. Would recommend any of my girls to go here! The girl that took me back to do my intake was especially nice. I cannot remember her name but she seriously rocked!! Thanks PP!
