I'm writing this as I'm waiting for the doctor to see me to get new birth control. I just wanted to state that Amanda at the front desk was seriously amazing. She was high (but great) energy, comforting, sweet, thorough, and every place should have a front desk person like her. I won't be going to any other location as long as she's here. I genuinely love when you can tell/feel that someone loves and enjoys their job or at least makes an effort every morning.

Today I came to Planned Parenthood for an IUD replacement. I was really nervous going into my appointment because I couldn’t get an exact price over the phone. As someone who’s been uninsured since aging out of my parents’ plan — and working as a waitress — medical costs are scary. I was preparing myself for a $2,000 bill… the front desk angel asked me how much I make a month. As she crunched the numbers, I braced for impact, and then that beautiful voice said it would only be $63.75!!!! I almost started sobbing from relief.\n\nThis was my third IUD, and while it’s always a painful and traumatizing experience, this was hands-down the best one yet. Every single woman I encountered — from the front desk to the doctor — was patient, warm, funny, and so incredibly kind. They held my hand, talked me through the pain, and cracked just the right amount of jokes to help me breathe through it. They gave me space to breathe and walked me through the entire procedure with as much ease as possible.\n\nAlso — it was pouring when I arrived, and I am more than grateful for their covered drop-off area. It’s a small thing, but on a day like today, it mattered.\n\nAnd one more thing that meant so much to me: while checking in, they asked for my preferred name and pronouns. I’m a cis woman, but I don’t go by my legal first name — and I’ve never felt comfortable correcting anyone in a medical setting because it feels unnecessary. But they just asked. Unprovoked. Like it was standard and normal. And hearing my preferred name called out loud made me feel instantly more comfortable and seen. That tiny gesture changed the entire tone of the visit for me.\n\nIf we remove the whole “metal device shoved into your body” part, it was honestly a beautiful experience. I’m endlessly grateful to have Planned Parenthood South Austin in my corner in such a scary world. Thank you for protecting women like me.

I went in for an IUD insertion. I was terrified, but all of the staff here made me feel very comfortable. I voiced my concerns to my provider and she assured me everything would be okay and even let me play music during my insertion. I would gladly come back to this clinic for future services ^_^.

The people are kind, the care is decent. The billing is some bullshit. 6+ phone calls over the course of 6 months because they coded a visit outside my insurance, on top of multiple other errors. A bill for over 500$ when I owed 40$ at most. Finally got a bill that's only mostly correct (still 25$ more than I actually owe, but I'm sick of calling them to dispute charges) in February, for a visit in October. Also they waited to send me ANY bill until 90 days had passed, for which they charge a fee. They also waited until the bills had compounded after I had been receiving regular care, rather than alerting me to the fact I owed fairly large amounts between visits..

The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable here. I had my second visit with them today and I'm so glad to have them in the area. Maddie and Caitlin (sorry if I misspelled your names!) were incredibly kind and wonderful. They made getting an IUD into such a peaceful experience! They explained everything so well and I felt extremely informed and cared for. This location always provides the utmost quality of care!

I was so nervous to get my Wellness and preventive care check up for the first time at PPH. I made an online appointment in the evening on Sunday. Then on Monday after work was when I was able to go. The facility is sparkling clean and very fancy. The beginning and ending process was very supportive and uplifting, it was not stressful at all. They offered the finance program and addressed my concerns very well. Clarisa - checked me in. Madi (RHA), Kara - Doctor and Nicole - manager. The PPH South Austin angels made me feel so relaxed and relieved through the process. Thank you for all you do.

I planned a trip to Austin to drop off household recycling (glass) since my town doesn't have it.
I made a same-day appointment at this location and had time to check out the other clinics.
I passed the staffs numerous questions and got a birth control Rx.
I knew some of the lawyers that supported this so I thought I would give it a try.
I was able to pick up my Rx at the H-E-B.
Thanks in an unknown world.

Don't get me wrong, the staff is very nice. I had an appointment at 2:30 and I didn't get out of there until two hours later.
They couldn't draw my blood, even the NP if that's what she was couldn't. Then it felt like somebody off the street did my annual. She tried three times to put the speculum in and so i hope i get accurate results. i went to my car and cried. i miss my OB so much, but lost my insurance. I am going to insist on seeing a DR if i need further testing.

A gorgeous facility full of gorgeous people!
I mean that, everyone was so upbeat, positive, and out-and-out friendly to me my visit this morning, from the receptionist to the clinician to the doctor. Big shout-outs to Amanda, Norale, and Juliene. Normally it's never fun to go in for an appointment/blood draw, but their radiant attitudes at 9AM set me completely at ease. I also love how inclusive their language is: I was asked what my preferred name and pronouns were, and they were diligent about making sure all my information was accurate and up to date. Really feels like they care about me as an individual. It's why I love Planned Parenthood and like to support them.
I'd never been to this particular office, as I'd been using the telehealth option since COVID-19. They have a spacious parking lot away from the road, which is really nice-- felt private and safe even in downtown Austin. The inside of the office is clean and modern, with plenty of seating and even a play area for kids. Two gender neutral bathrooms are available for use in the lobby. There's also a pretty outdoor courtyard in the middle (though in our current heat wave this summer, I didn't feel a desire to go out there to sit!).
The clinician Norale who took my blood was very competent and considerate both. She kept conversing with me to distract me from the needle; I barely felt a thing!
Kindly I was given the option of paying on the spot or having a bill mailed; I opted for the former. They also gave me plenty of needles for use with my prescription that I'll be able to pick up tomorrow. The doctor Juliene clearly cared about efficiently ensuring my prescription got filled with no delay.

I am very pleased with my experience. Everyone there was very kind and made me feel welcome. I went in for an bc implant consultation and discussed my options. Made an appointment for the very next day and got it! While my doctor was inserting it, she was very gentle and explained the whole process to me. My appointment and implant was completely free because of my income! If you are low income and need birth control, come here! They will help you out.

I want to like this place I really do... but my IUD cost $1000. I understand this cost. My gyno would've charged me $1600. I could have lied about my income and it would've been cheaper but I didn't. What I don't understand is why they billed me over and over again for a FIFTEEN DOLLAR pregnancy test. Those things are $1 at the dollar store and a doctor does not need $14 to read it so $15 after I just spent $1000 (because I was honest!) was salt on my wounds. I just hope that my honest money was spent helping others that truly need it and not people that lie. No proof of income was required and because of that - this type of system rewards liars. They should require proof of income. Period.
The staff is nice though and the procedure went smoothly. They even held my baby during the procedure which made me more comfortable.
