Fertility specialist Kseniia Khazhylenko joined the World Congress on Recurrent Pregnancy Loss 2018

On June 27-29, 2018, Deputy Chief Doctor of Infertility Treatment Center, Head of the Recurrent pregnancy loss Treatment Center, fertility specialist, geneticist, obstetrician-gynecologist of ISIDA clinic Kseniia Khazhylenko participated in the 3rd World Congress on Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (WCRPL 2018), which took place in Madrid. Kseniia Khazhylenko not only attended lectures presented by her foreign colleagues about challenging problems and ways to solve them in the field of recurrent pregnancy loss treatment, but also shared her own ideas in poster report "Assessment of individual risk of thrombosis in patients with recurrent miscarriage".
It is difficult to overestimate the importance of events like this for professionals dealing with the problem of miscarriage, because, undoubtedly, the most painful challenge for a woman has always been the loss of a long-awaited child. At the same time, modern statistics show very unfavorable prognosis: the clinically confirmed percentage of pregnancy losses is 15-20%, and the number of diagnoses "recurrent miscarriage" only continues to grow. Almost 50% of cases do not have clear etiology, and doctors of different specializations make diagnoses, based on specific studies, that sometimes contradict each other. It is now becoming apparent that in order to solve the problem of recurrent pregnancy loss, it is necessary to apply an interdisciplinary approach that takes into account entire «picture» of the patient's health status: from physical conditions to emotional background.
«For the third time the World Congress on Recurrent Pregnancy Loss brings together specialists of a very special field: despite the high prevalence of the problem, there are only a few specialized institutions with multidisciplinary approach in the world, where a comprehensive examination and treatment of such patients is performed, - Kseniia Khazhylenko said. - Therefore, the scientific program of the Congress included a wide range of important for recurrent miscarriage treatment directions. The modern strategy of treatment in patients with miscarriage more often brings together gynecologists and fertility specialists, since it is proved that fertility disorders such as miscarriage, infertility and unsuccessful IVF attempts are interrelated.
