Flinders Fertility

Flinders Fertility (previously Flinders Reproductive Medicine) started in 1977 as a collaboration between Flinders University and the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department of Flinders Medical Centre. Having served the South Australian community for almost 40 years, not only have we helped thousands of parents achieve their dream of a creating family, we have also given back to our community in a number of ways, including helping to train and educate many South Australian doctors and specialists.

We are proud to have been responsible for the first IVF baby born in South Australia in 1982 and we have continued to provide an excellent service to our patient community thereafter. Since relocating to Glenelg in 2019, we have the advantage of offering all services within a single purpose-built facility. This allows us not only to continue to provide the highest standard of care, but also makes fertility treatment very straightforward for our patients.

We aim to help you make the best decision based on your individual needs, and are here guide you from diagnosis to treatment, no matter where your fertility journey takes you.

If you are unsure where to begin when deciding to undergo treatment, you can read our helpful guide on how to get started.

At your first appointment, your fertility doctor will go through your history and review any previous investigations. You will be advised about any further investigations that are required, and a review appointment is generally made for about 4-6 weeks later.

Your review appointments provide the opportunity to discuss the investigation results and if applicable, factors that may be contributing to your difficulty in falling pregnant. Fertility treatments that will increase your chances of success may be also be covered. Your fertility doctor will be able to discuss the likely success rates of your chosen fertility treatment once the investigations are completed and the results are available.
