Everyone with a wish for children is welcome in the Fertility Center (IVF) of the AZ Jan Palfijn Ghent. The center offers the following treatments: ovulation induction, insemination, IVF / ICSI, storage of gametes (eggs and sperm) and embryos, egg donation and sperm donation.

You choose from one of our fertility doctors. This gynecologist guides and treats you and your partner through your treatment.

With the help of agreements and permissions, clear agreements are made in advance about fertility treatment and the destination of the embryos and gametes in different situations. You can find these permissions below.

We also offer the opportunity to personally make an appointment with a midwife from the department. During this contact moment you can ask all your questions and you will have the opportunity to get to know the Fertility Center before your treatment starts.

The fertility center of the AZ Jan Palfijn Ghent is a reference center for the hospitals AZ Maria Middelares, OLV Aalst and Saint Augustine Antwerp.

After starting fertility treatment, many people have a lot of questions. This means you can always contact one of the Fertility Center employees. This is possible every day from 8 am to 4 pm. During the weekend we are only available for urgent matters between 8 am and 12 noon.

Our fertility center is recognized by the NIHDI to apply 'oncofreezing'. Patients undergoing cancer treatment, carrying a genetic mutation and / or patients with haematopoietic disease may be eligible. If certain conditions are met, they can count on an allowance to freeze and store their egg or sperm for a minimum of ten years.
