Babymoon (23–27 Weeks Pregnant): What to Expect?

Babymoon (23–27 Weeks Pregnant): What to Expect?

Babymoon Continues!

Starting from the middle of the Babymoon, there are still so many mysterious things that you have never ever envisioned in your mind. Amused, confused, and scared? Or, maybe, thrilled about everything that is to come or feel as a bundle of nerves without any idea what this trimester would ‘bring’ you? Wondering what will happen in the second trimester?

The second trimester is the most wonderful time of the pregnancy. It is the time when everything has its synchronization in the time. Your morning sickness, fatigue, dizziness, fainting would disappear. Instead, your energy will dramatically boost, and you will feel more comfortable being in the pregnant body. The mysteries will be revealed, and the magic moments will happen more often. Want to know more about this ‘babymoon’ time?

1. Week 23: Your fetus is Cuddling Up, Breathing, and Hearing the sounds.

If you do love choreography, be sure that with your fetus’s sense of movement perfectly developed by now, your fetus–dude or your fetus–lady can feel you dance. Yup, your small bundle may feel the choreography you are performing! Sounds wonderful, doesn’t it?

Now your small bundle is more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound. In other words, fetus–dude or your fetus–lady is about the size of a large mango. And you even may catch a fleeting glimpse of this large ‘MANGO’ squirming underneath your clothes.

Blood vessels in the fetus’s lungs are developing to prepare for breathing. Your small bundle is starting to make the trial breathing movements. But these tiny breathing movements are just the trial ones.

Around the 16th week of pregnancy, your fetus will start detecting some limited noises from inside. Ultimately, being 23 weeks old, your fetus’s ears are getting better at picking up sounds. By the time the third trimester begins, your small bundle hears sounds perfect. Especially the sounds from the inside: your heart pulsating, the blood whooshing through your veins, and many others.

And one more surprising thing: your fetus also starts hearing more clearly sounds and noises from outside. Your coffee cup has just fallen, your mobile phone has just rung, your ring has just fallen loudly, your music is playing, you are in conversation with someone, and so on. But the way he/she hears the outside sounds is different: the sounds he/she hears, being in a womb are muffled, because there’s amniotic fluid surrounding him/her, plus all the layers of your body and their amniotic sac, between him/her and the world outside.

2. Week 24: Sleeping Patterns, Real Hair, Less Translucent Skin, Handprints, Footprints, Fetal Responds.

Your fetus this week is about 12 inches long and weighs 1 ¼ pounds. If born now, your small bundle would have about a 50 percent chance of surviving.

Every day your fetus Cuddles Up, Falls Asleep and Wakes up nearly at the same time. That seems that your small fetus develops waking and sleeping patterns.

Real tiny hair begins to grow on the head. So, your fetus maybe golden–blonde–curled, or light–golden–brown–curled, or chocolate brown–curled, or black–curled.

The translucency of the skin starts to disappear. This week, your small fetus’s skin becomes less translucent as the pigment is deposited. But the fetal skin looks wrinkly because his or her body is making his or her skin more quickly than it makes the fat to pad underneath it.

This week the unique hand prints and footprints are forming. Another miracle you should expect this week: Your small bundle now kicks in response to sounds and touch from outside the womb. Sometimes your small fetus loves to play with you and even anticipates your touch in any form. You may run a finger on your belly while lying on your bed, you may cuddle up with your belly, you may hug your belly with your hands, you will receive kicks in response! But sometimes you will be given a powerful ‘angry’ response from inside. If your baby kicks and you powerfully push-back, the baby may move away and stick out her arm, her leg, or change quickly the curling position inside. Or if your little one sleeps inside, and you are constantly touching your bump, she won’t be happy to awake and to fall asleep twelve times a day.

3. Week 25: Your fetus looks more and more gorgeous.

Your fetus now measures about 13 1/2 inches long and weighs 1 1/2 pounds. The wrinkled skin is starting to fill out with the fat, making your bundle look more and more gorgeous, like a newborn. The hair on the small head has more deep color and more complex texture.

4. Week 26: Your fetus is practicing Breathing, his or her Gorgeous Eyes are starting to open.

This week your small fetus is 14 inches long and weighs about 1 2/3 pounds or even almost 2 pounds. Your small bundle is now practicing the breathing technique. Wondering how is it possible for your small unborn bundle to breathe being inside? The amniotic fluid that surrounds your fetus is used for the practice. Your fetus inhales and exhales the amniotic fluid, and this develops the small lungs. The air sacs of the lungs, called alveoli, will be developed by the end of this week.

Did you know that all babies have dark–blue eyes in the womb? So, this week the most dramatic mystery will start to disclose. Wondering what I am talking about? I am talking about its gorgeous tiny eyes. There are many characteristics of eyes: amusing eyes, beautiful eyes, charismatic eyes, glittering eyes, gorgeous eyes, warm eyes, annoyed eyes, confused eyes, embarrassed eyes, frustrated eyes but most of the eyes don’t have one unique pattern – the depth. No mater literally or metaphorically saying, but the eyes always show the pure soul. It is impossible to hide it as it is so vividly outlined through the eyes. And no one knows, could the diamond tears fill those gorgeous eyes of your fetus or fetuses, as they are just starting to open (the eyelids separate, and the eyes are starting to open), but not so wide to glimpse that glitter.

Your fetus’s hearing system is now completely formed. Over the next few weeks, your small bundle will become utterly sensitive to the sounds. In about a month, you will feel your small dude, or your small lady literally jump out of the womb if he or she hears a sudden loud noise. Sound passes easily into your womb, which helps his or her ears develop.

During this time, you should avoid screaming and shouting. Your voice is not only cordial, reassuring, and soothing, but it is also unforgettable . Your voice makes your small bundle forget all the other voices heard around. When you start the conversation with anyone, she hears nobody but you at first. Therefore, avoid screaming and shouting. Your small fetus may get startled and you will feel him or her curling up inside so powerfully and painfully as he or she is trying to jump out.

If that has happened to you, touch your bump delicately without pressure to soothe your fetus. Your small bundle loves your delicate touch. Run your fingertips across your bump, accurately hug your bump with your hands, let your significant other to pull you closer, and to hug delicately your bump.

5. Week 27: The last week of the second trimester.

This is the last week of your second trimester. Your small bundle weighs about two pounds and is about 14 to 15 inches long, with the perfect chances to survive in case if prematurely born. Your small bundle still cannot breathe himself or herself. The lungs are not fully formed, but they could function outside the womb with medical help. And if your fetus–dude or your fetus–lady will be born this week, he or she would have an excellent chance (85 percent) of surviving and will be immediately transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

CONCLUSION:

The second trimester is the most wonderful time of the pregnancy. It is the so–called ‘honeymoon trimester’ with your tiny bundle or bundles. By the end of this ‘honeymoon’ time, your bundle or bundles would be not so tiny as they are in the very beginning. Starting with the size of the lemon and growing to the size of more than a large mango, you small bundle or bundles turn into the miniature newborn or newborns. This trimester will disclose so many mysteries, starting with the Hand–prints and Footprints and ending with the Mystery of the glittering eyes as they will be opened during the last week. During this time there will be the first baby bump debut, the first baby kicks, and the first baby jumps. You are on the brink of the final trimester and past the “point of viability”, but it still seems like forever until the day your small bundle will be born.
