Infertility is a disease of the reproductive system defined as the inability to achieve a clinical pregnancy after 12 months or more of unprotected sexual intercourse. 

The probability of getting pregnant in young and healthy women is 84% during the first year and in the second year of actively seeking pregnancy it drops to 20%. Early consultation with a fertility specialist is recommended.
