Infertility tests can be started if the infertility has lasted for more than a year. Investigations may be initiated earlier if a woman has gynecological problems, such as lower abdominal pain or bleeding disorders, or if either has a chronic illness or medication that is suspected of impairing fertility. These diseases include e.g. diabetes, epilepsy, inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease and rheumatic diseases. Fertility also deteriorates with age, so a woman over the age of 35 should not wait a year, but a half-year attempt is enough.
For the reception, the couple should apply together. Infertility studies first examine the condition of a woman's genitals by gynecological examination and ultrasound. In addition, hormone tests are performed and, if necessary, the opening of the fallopian tubes is examined by ultrasound. The man is examined for semen.
The studies will assess whether the pregnancy can still be expected or whether further studies and treatment are needed. Treatment is planned according to the findings.
We also take care of independent women and female couples.
