The chief gynaecologists/obstetricians, embryologists and anesthesiologists of our clinic have been working together since the very first day of its operation in 2007, while the founders of IVF Athens Center have managed more than 10,000 cycles of IVF/ICSI and over 18,000 insemination treatment cycles over the last 20 years.

IVF Athens Center’s embryology laboratory applies cutting-edge technologies that improve embryo quality including all the latest pre-genetic screening techniques as well as in “freeze-all” (vitrification) protocols, which are associated with significantly improved success rates, especially in women over 35 years old. Among other, the laboratory is proud to use a state-of-the-art embryoscope that results in improved embryo quality and, consequently, in higher success rates.

Egg Donors

There is no waiting list for donations and all information concerning the donor is kept strictly confidential, in accordance with the Greek law.

The patients can choose a donor by selecting specific characteristics (height, weight, hair/eyes/skin color, compatibility with the patient’s/couples’ blood type(s). We recruit and screen donors mainly from Greece. We can though - and actually, have done it - screen donors with other ethnic-race backgrounds.

Before joining the procedure of eggs retrieval, donors undergo clinical and laboratory tests. The clinic does perform additional tests recommended by ESHRE, including a full review of personal and family medical history, physical examination, genetic screening (for 30 genetic diseases), Karyotype, Fragile X Syndrome, Cystic Fibrosis, testing for infectious diseases and mental health screening.

International Patient’s 

Each international patient is personally serviced by a dedicated coordinator, starting from the patient’s very first contact with the clinic (https://www.ivfathenscenter.gr/en/chief-listening-officer/). As part of this service, she may start the treatment at home (have her local gynaecologist/obstetrician do the monitoring according to our instructions). IVF Athens Center’s patient coordinator will guide her in regard to her preliminary tests, how to take the medication, when she should be monitored, etc. She will need to fly in Greece for only the egg collection procedure and the embryo transfer.
