Our mission

While some couples search for the most reliable birth control methods, other couples are still dreaming of having children due to unsuccessful attempts. According to statistics, one in five Lithuanian families has trouble conceiving.

The main goal of the team at Northway Fertility Centre is to determine the cause of infertility as precisely as possible to prescribe the most effective treatment for the family so that they can finally succeed in having a child.

When is the right time to consult an infertility specialist

Northway Fertility Centre pays particular attention to ensuring patient safety, privacy and confidentiality of patient health information because we highly value the trust shown by our patients.

Based on good practice recommendations, a woman should get pregnant within 12 months if she has no obvious disorders. If she does not become pregnant within this time, the couple should seek a consultation with a fertility specialist.

For women aged 35 or above, including those previously diagnosed with inflammation of the genitals or primary ovarian insufficiency or who have undergone a miscarriage, extrauterine pregnancy or abortion (voluntary termination of a pregnancy) or who have experienced certain disorders that prevent a woman from getting pregnant (changes in the male sperm, etc.), doctors recommend a consultation with a fertility specialist after unsuccessful attempts to conceive within six months.

The level of medical qualification in this field has increased significantly and infertility treatment methods and techniques have developed considerably in recent years, so the sooner a couple seeks medical assistance, the more chance they will have of getting pregnant.

How we work

The highly skilled and experienced specialists at Northway Fertility Centre provide consultations, investigate the causes of infertility and apply modern and effective infertility treatment methods and techniques. Northway Fertility Centre uses cutting-edge medical and laboratory equipment and offers facilities for all treatment procedures performed at the centre.

Diagnostics

The advanced infertility treatment principle is based on a fast and precise diagnostic and a stay-focused approach to the provision of clear and precise recommendations for treatment.

The One-Stop Infertility Assessment applied at Northway Fertility Centre offers a couple a versatile infertility investigation to determine the possible causes of infertility in just one day. This is a versatile evaluation of a woman’s reproductive organs with the help of a transvaginal endoscopy. The procedure is performed under local or intravenous anaesthetic, which makes it possible to evaluate the endometrial cavity and its possible abnormalities, as well as the pelvic organs, ovaries and fallopian tubes, and to check the tubal patency. Based on the results obtained, a precise diagnosis can be given detailing any disorders and whether they need to be treated. Male semen is analysed at the same time to obtain as much information as possible for the couple.

Treatment

Infertile couples have a variety of treatment options, from the most basic to the most complex. Depending on the couple’s medical conditions, the woman, man, or both are given special medication or surgery.

Hysteroscopy and laparoscopy are two of the main minimally invasive (keyhole surgery) endoscopic procedures applied in infertility treatment. Surgical treatment plays an important role because it enables the medical specialist to conduct many manipulations without using complex assisted reproduction procedures. According to statistics from the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, drug therapy and surgical treatments help couples to conceive in 85-90% of cases without the application of assisted reproduction techniques. Other procedures are recommended only in cases of unsuccessful attempts.

Northway Fertility Centre offers couples struggling to conceive the opportunity to use donor sperm insemination or participate in the Oocyte Donation Programme.

Results

The rate of clinical pregnancies achieved with the help of assisted reproduction techniques at Northway Fertility Centre corresponds to and in some cases even exceeds the success rates of the best European and worldwide clinics.

After assessing the outcome from 2018 of thawed embryo transfer into the uterus, we are happy to announce that our pregnancy success rate has reached 53% and the cumulative pregnancy rate (probability of conception in 2 years) has reached 77%! This is a particularly good outcome that exceeds the success rates of many other clinics in Lithuania and indeed Europe.
