The activities of Vilnius University Hospital Santara Clinics , of which Vilnius University and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania are shareholders, include practical and scientific medicine, training of students, residents, doctor training, modern management and modern information technology solutions.

VUL Santara Clinics is one of the largest hospitals in Lithuania, providing the highest level of specialized personal health care services and performing continuous pedagogical and scientific research work. VUL Santara clinics provide necessary and planned assistance by the most qualified doctors and nurses. Consultations at the polyclinic are provided and sent for further treatment by experienced secondary and tertiary level specialists-consultants.

From 1 May 2011, the Children's Hospital ( http://www.vaikuligonine.lt) , the State Pathology Center ( http://www.vpc.lt ) and the Infectious Diseases and Tuberculosis Hospital have become branches of VUL Santara Clinics.

As of September 1, 2016, the activities of the Infectious Diseases and Tuberculosis Hospital (VUL Santara Clinics Branch) were terminated by the decision of the founders of VUL Santara Clinics. The functions of the branch were taken over by the relevant divisions of VUL Santara clinics.

2016 VUL SK established and began operating the Santara Fertility Center (SVC). VULSK is the first state university hospital in Lithuania to provide the highest level of services: infertility diagnostics, treatment and assisted reproduction, gamete bank, preimplantation genetic diagnostics (PGD), procedures with donor gametes, fertility preservation for oncology patients. 

VUL Santara Clinics cooperates with Lithuanian and foreign university hospitals, various public organizations, patient and medical associations. An important aspect of the hospital work -  active participation in the projects supported by the Structural Funds. VUL Santara Clinics is an applicant for many projects.
