Nidus Reproductive Medicine

NIDUS Reproductive Medicine was born in 2001, from the dream of a group of doctors from Juiz de Fora: to offer patients in the city and region access to all treatments in Assisted Reproduction, without the need to travel to the big ones. centers. Initially, the Clinic was named Pró Cria Juiz de Fora and its structure was set up on the premises of the Monte Sinai Hospital (largest hospital in the region), to which the group joined. All available techniques for the treatment of the infertile couple were brought to the city: programmed intercourse, intrauterine insemination, in vitro fertilization, freezing of embryos and gametes, in addition to sperm analysis, ultrasound and others. NIDUS, at the time, Pró Cria Juiz de Fora, was the first reproductive medicine clinic in the Zona da Mata of Minas Gerais, and responsible for the first test tube baby in this region. On this occasion, patients were received, for consultations, in an office in the city center.

Over the years, the clinic has consolidated its expertise and reputation, having a team composed of gynecologists and specialists in Reproductive Medicine, Josélio Vitoi Rosa and Fernanda Polisseni, founding partners, in addition to the urologist, Newton Ferreira, also one of the founders, and of psychologist, Laura Bechara. Embryologist Juliana Polisseni joined the team, directing the in vitro Fertilization laboratory, a few years after the clinic's inauguration. Monte Sinai Hospital remained associated with the project, providing important support through its team of anesthetists and nurses, as well as support through its clinical analysis laboratory. This support allows the collection of blood by patients, for various tests, quickly and practically, in a structure attached to the NIDUS. In 2014, the clinic underwent a complete restructuring of its reception policy and its physical structure, starting to function at the Monte Sinai Medical Center and integrating, in the same space, the service offices to the collection, examination rooms and the Fertilization laboratory in vitro.

The new laboratory, with modern equipment and pioneering techniques, was immediately approved by Anvisa and NIDUS maintains the certification of the Latin American Network for Assisted Reproduction (Rede Lara), achieved since 2005. Today, the team includes doctors specializing in Reproductive Medicine, Fernanda Polisseni, Josélio Vitoi Rosa and Larissa Milani Coutinho, the urologist, Newton Ferreira, the embryologist, laboratory director, Juliana Polisseni, the embryologist Carolina Marinho, the psychologist Laura Bechara, and geneticist Natálya Gonçalves Pereira, who joined the team in 2018, starting to provide patients with genetic counseling support. NIDUS also counts on the valuable collaboration of a nurse, receptionists and administrative staff.
