The Southern Fertility and Gynecology Center works to help overcome infertility problems.

Here you will find highly qualified professionals with laboratories equipped with the most advanced systems in assisted reproduction.

If you have spent more than a year trying to have children, do not worry, the Southern Fertility and Gynecology Center has specialized treatment for your specific case.

In our center, given the high frequency of men with alterations in the seminal sample, fertilization is assisted through ICSI. This is a procedure that contributes to the fertilization of the ovum through the injection of a sperm into its cytoplasm. Both gametes are carried through micromanipulators under vision in the miscroscope.

Since 2000, the use of Assisted Reproduction Techniques of low complexity begins, such as Controlled Ovarian Hyperstimulation and Intrauterine Insemination.

It is in 2005 that the Assisted Reproduction Techniques of high complexity began, making us the first center in the province with the ability to perform in vitro fertilization procedures .

In 2008, prolonged embryo culture begins until the fifth day, until the blastocyst stage, and on June 20, 2009 the birth of the first blastocyst transfer product is achieved.

In 2010 we started Intracitoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) procedures using an inverted microscope and micromanipulators, allowing the fertilization of oocytes in couples in which the husband has difficulty. Given the high prevalence of male factor, currently, all IVF procedures are performed associated with ICSI. The birth of the first children product of this technique was on October 24, 2010.

Embryo vitrification and subsequent devitrification achieved the birth of a first baby on March 4, 2012.

Men with absence of sperm in the ejaculate (Azoospermia), can achieve pregnancy through ICSI, obtaining sperm from testicular biopsy. The birth of the first girl achieved through this procedure was April 28, 2012.

In 2011 we began the in vitro maturation of oocytes (IVM), achieving the birth of the first Peruvian girl product of this technique on August 7, 2012.
