Egg donation is a procedure used in couples who wish to develop, and whose possibility of adequate egg production does not allow the eggs of the expectant mother to be used. Such situations are related to surgical resections such as removal of the ovaries, or situations of ovarian failure, such as menopause or early menopause. This procedure implies obtaining a donor compatible with the characteristics of the recipient.

In SEGIR Clinic, this process is known as a donor couple, where a couple is involved who needs in vitro fertilization and, after full clarification of the process, proposes to donate part of the eggs obtained in the process of ovarian stimulation and follicular puncture. Both couples are unaware of their identities, remaining as anonymous donation.
