Price: 900USD

SUMMARY: Hysteroscopy is a diagnostic “tool” that is performed before the IVF cycle in subfertile women and women with recurrent miscarriage as there is a strong correlation between intrauterine abnormalities and infertility. Prevalence of intrauterine abnormalities or uterine cavity malformations usually interferes with fertility potential. Hysteroscopy is a screening–diagnostic tool that visualizes the internal uterine shape, uterine cavity, and uterine malformations. It is performed with sedative medications, local or general anesthesia as it is an invasive surgery. The approximate duration of this procedure is between 10 and 30 minutes.

Hysteroscopy is an invasive diagnostic test, that is performed under the general anesthesia with a special tool called “Hysteroscope.” Hysteroscope is a thin surgical tool with installed endoscope camera that is inserted in the uterus to visualize the internal uterine shape, uterine cavity, and uterine malformations. It illuminates the uterine cavity by transmitting light from a light source, captures the static and dynamic images and displays the obtained multiple images on the screen or on the multiple screens. Hysteroscopy is performed to diagnose the cause of infertility or repeated miscarriages.

Hysteroscopy is scheduled for the second week of the woman’s cycle. If during the diagnostic hysteroscopy the doctor finds malformations inside the uterine cavity such as fibroids, polyps or septum, they will be removed during the procedure. After hysteroscopy, the patient can leave the clinic on the same day.
