ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) Cyprus

Price: 3500

Microinjection (ICSI) procedures are based on individual treatment approaches in our in vitro fertilization center in Cyprus.

Ovarian Stimulation

Every woman develops an egg in a natural menstrual month. In IVF treatment, some hormone injections are used daily to obtain more eggs and reach more embryos. This process is about 10-20 days depending on the treatment protocol applied and the response of the ovaries to the treatment.

During this period, 3-5 times ultrasound control and blood hormone tests (Estradiol, LH and progesterone) are monitored.

Egg Collection (OPU) and Laboratory Process

When the follicles (water sacs, which are thought to be eggs) reach the desired / appropriate size and number, a ripening needle (hcg or GnRH analogue) is made. 34-36. hours of maturation of eggs with this needle effect occurs in accordance with the natural course.

At the end of this maturation process, gentle sedation is performed to collect the eggs that the patient will not feel and remember. This process takes approximately 15-30 minutes.

ICSI

After the eggs are collected, mature eggs (mature oocytes) are fertilized by microinjection with the best selected sperm. In this process, sperm are placed into the egg with the help of a small pipette. This method achieves the highest fertilization rate. After this process, the embryo formation steps are followed.

After a period of 3 to 5 days, embryos are transplanted into the mother's uterus.

Laboratory - Embryo Culture

In the following days, some of the embryos continue their path and some of them stop developing. Ongoing embryos are classified according to their morphology (shape / image) and division. Transfer of good quality embryos is given priority. In this way, the chance of success is thought to increase.

Transfer

The best procedure is to place the embryos in the mother's womb by means of a special cannula (soft tube). This procedure is painless and simple. No procedure such as anesthesia / sedation is required.

Vitrification / Freezing of Remaining Embryos

If good quality embryos remain after embryo transfer, it is important to freeze them. In this way, when the couple requests another child or if the process fails, the eggs will not need to be developed and collected again, meaning that all operations will have to be done from scratch.
