Sperm donation Lebanon

Price: 1000USD

SUMMARY: Sperm donation is an essential option for the couples facing severe male factor infertility and for single women wishing to have a child. Sperm donation is used for completing IUI and IVF cycles. It involves using the donor’s sperm sample for fertilization in cases when it is impossible or undesirable to use the Patient’s sperm. The sperm donation can be chosen also if the Patient’s sperm has poor semen quality, abnormal sperm morphology, low fertilization potency or it is hard (only surgical sperm retrieval should be performed) or even impossible to have the sperm sample. A great plus of sperm donation is that the limits shaped by severe male factor infertility are pushed away as it is possible to choose the sperm donor with the same characteristics as the future father.

More details about sperm donation in Dr. Bernard Kassab’s Clinic.

Dr. Bernard Kassab’s Clinic offers not only standard IUI (intrauterine insemination treatment) and IVF (in vitro fertilization treatment) cycles but also IUI and IVF cycles with sperm donation option that turns the dreams of infertile men to become fathers into a real thing, thus making families completed.

STEP 1 | INITIAL CONSULTATION. Selection of the sperm donor.

In any IUI or IVF cycle with sperm donation, the couple (or single woman) may choose a known or unknown sperm donor. A sperm donor is chosen according to the set criteria: with the same physical characteristics (height and weight), with the similar appearance (having the resemblance with the man who is going to be a father), with the same blood group (as the Patient), with the similar genetic content (the genetic abnormalities, chromosomal abnormalities, and abnormalities that affect the genomes are excluded).

Selecting a suitable sperm donor is a safe process as every semen donor is screened comprehensively for prevention of transmitting the diseases to the future children that would appear through IUI technique or embryo generation event that takes place in every IVF cycle.

STEP 2 | The sperm donor’s screening.

The sperm donor undergoes an ultrasound testicular volume measurement, sex hormone (testosterone) levels measurement, an initial seminal fluid analysis, chromosome karyotyping, and the other screening tests that are vital to be performed before using their sperm sample for IUI or IVF treatment. If the results of the screening tests are reaching the normal limits (if there are no genome abnormalities, damaged DNA, transmitted genetic diseases, the sperm sample contains mostly abnormal sperm cells, etc.), the sperm donor is suitable for IUI or IVF cycle.

STEP 3 | Sperm collection and sperm preparation.

The donor’s sperm is collected into the sperm collection kit, transferred to the IVF laboratory, where it again undergoes comprehensive investigation and preparation for further usage either in IUI or IVF.
