Hi Fertility Center

A natural ovulation cycle is usually one egg matures and ovulates, but it is usually done by allowing multiple eggs to mature to increase your chances of conception. Depending on the age and ovarian function of the patient, the degree of superovulation is different, and natural cycle or hypostimulation in vitro fertilization can also be performed. It can be divided into short-term therapy and long-term therapy according to the type of injection that suppresses the simultaneous ovulation of the egg that grows at the same time.

Follicle maturation injections are given 36 hours before egg collection, usually in the evening two days before. On the day of egg collection, fasting and performing the procedure after sleeping anesthesia. The egg is collected by suctioning the egg with a fine needle while watching the vaginal ultrasound. The treatment time is as short as 30 minutes, and after the treatment, you go home after resting in the recovery room for about an hour. If the number of eggs is small and anesthesia is not desired, the procedure may be performed after administration of a local anesthetic or analgesic. Sperm collection is performed on the same day as egg collection.

Generally, it is performed 2-6 days after egg collection, and up to 1-3 are transplanted depending on the patient's age and culture date. The embryo is placed through a soft, long tube into the uterus and is virtually painless. Luteal phase reinforcement is required from egg collection to embryo transfer to confirm pregnancy. In the case of IVF, progesterone alone or estrogen and progesterone are administered together to help implantation because the hormone that needs to be secreted in the luteal phase is insufficient compared to the natural cycle.
