My wife and I came to this clinic as a same-sex couple seeking fertility care a couple of years ago, and unfortunately, our experience was disappointing and disheartening.nnWhile I (a white woman) was treated professionally, my wife—a woman of color—was not afforded the same respect. There was a clear contrast in the way we were each addressed and acknowledged.nnAt one point, we were told our treatment plan involved "timed intercourse," which clearly does not apply to our situation as a lesbian couple. When I asked the nurse to review the doctor's notes again, they insisted they had already done so and responded with condescension rather than care. The nurse talked over me when I tried to explain that timed intercourse would do nothing for my wife and I. We had to advocate for ourselves repeatedly to receive appropriate and informed guidance—something no patient should have to do. The nurse called me back later, never apologized for her rudeness or mistake. And insisted I send our sperm to the clinic. With no plan or schedule in place. I was told to “just ship it here and we’ll figure it out”.nnI didn’t trust that plan and we chose a different clinic to go to, one that didn’t tell us to try timed intercourse and actually listened to us and met our needs as a lesbian couple..

I have worked with several aganecies as a surrogate and other fertility clinics and IVF Ohio and Gift of Life Surrogacy is hands down, THE BEST! I have never felt more supported and cared for as a surrogate! Dr. Shamma his wife Zein and his team at this office are outstanding. He took the time to call me back from home after hours to help calm my nerves and ease my anxiety after going through some pretty tragic things with another clinic and agency. He gave me the confidence to try again, and they made it very easy to trust in the process. Their entire team truly loves what they do and it shows in the compassion and thoughfulness they display! His nurses and office staff are amazing humans who have all been so paramount in my incredible experience!! I can not reccomend them enough. The most efficient, kind and caring, get it done team I've ever had the priveledge to work with!! Very upfront and honest, they tell it like it is, which I appreciate. Just now rounding out the first triemester and graduation from the IVF clinic is bittersweet because I will miss seeing all their faces!!!.

Dr. Shamma and his team made the transition from one clinic to another seamless. The team provided all documentation and steps of care in the early appointments. The nurses are reachable by phone and email to answer all your questions. All billing information was provided up front. We have 1 beautiful IVF baby and another on the way! Since joining the IVF community we have learned so much and continue to advocate for others by sharing our story and pushing for IVF insurance coverage with employers.
