When co-founders, Michael J. Levy, M.D., and Arthur W. Sagoskin, M.D., established Shady Grove Fertility more than 26 years ago, they had no idea that the practice would rise to national and international prominence as a Center of Excellence in the field of reproductive medicine, IVF, and infertility. The goal of the new practice was simple—to provide cutting edge fertility care in an environment that supported patients' physical, emotional, and financial needs—and to make future business and clinical decisions based on what is in the best interest of the patients.

By focusing on improving patients' overall experience and pregnancy outcomes, Shady Grove Fertility found itself aligned with an ongoing commitment to excellence. Initially, ensuring a positive experience and engaging in a quest to raise the bar of success for patients meant hiring the best of the best—from physicians and laboratory directors to nurses, social workers, and other health care professionals.
