ISIDA clinic doctors and embryologists took part in the All-Ukrainian training on vitrification
The doctors of ISIDA clinic regularly take part in the work of foreign and local scientific conferences, symposia, seminars and trainings. This gives then a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the innovations in the field of reproductive medicine and share their own achievements and knowledge with fellow colleagues. So, on February 26-27, 2019, an All-Ukrainian training on vitrification via Cryotech method invited for participation 20 embryologists from all over Ukraine. Of course, among the participants of the training were ISIDA clinic doctors and embryologists.
The training was performed by specialists from Japan, students of Dr. Matsushito Kuvayama (the “father” of the modern vitrification method). The main advantage of this method is the 100% survival rate of biological material without any changes in it after defrosting. All the embryologists of ISIDA clinic received certificates confirming their absolute mastery of this freezing method.
Yevgeniya Ulayeva, Head of Embryologic laboratory, endocrinologist (male factor infertility), embryologist, received a certificate of a trainer, which provides her with an opportunity to teach other embryologists this Cryotech method. In autumn, 2019, another training is planned for specialists wishing to learn this method. The planned training will be held by ISIDA clinic specialists.
We remind you that vitrification is a modern method of oocytes and embryos freezing. This method has replaced the previous one of slow freezing and has a number of advantages. With vitrification method, oocytes or embryos are immersed in a cryoprotective solution, which does not crystallize during fast cooling, but becomes similar to glass. This protects the frozen material from damage: after warming, the embryos and oocytes retain their viability and are suitable for usage in IVF program.
